Georgian Elegance
No 5 Castle Street is more than simply an exceptional holiday home, staying there is like stepping back in time to an era of elegance and style. Situated in one of the most sought after areas of the village with magnificent views, this beautiful house has retained every bit of its charm and style and has a wealth of original features, with the benefit of all the modern conveniences one can expect of a luxury holiday home. It can comfortably accommodate up to 3 couples or a family and clean and well-behaved pets are welcome under our strict house rules for pets.

The Drawing and Dining Rooms
The drawing room is spacious and grand, yet styled in a relaxed, contemporary way. An open fire provides a warm ambience during cooler months, but with full central heating, it isn't a necessity. The dining room is sunny and cheerful during the day with a large south-facing sash window overlooking a pretty inner courtyard and has the benefit of a wonderful Edwardian piano.
The Kitchen and Garden Room
A spacious and airy kitchen leads from the dining room, with French windows opening out onto a delightful inner courtyard, which is perfect for breakfast or alfresco dining at any time. The kitchen is comprehensively equipped with all the usual appliances including a magnificent Aga, in use all year round, and a dishwasher. A separate small laundry room contains a washing machine and tumble dryer. The Garden Room is accessed from the first floor landing and is a wonderful, relaxing room with an open fire, digital TV, hi-fi plus a selection of music and films. The views from this room are spectacular; of the pretty open countryside and winding River Coquet. Deer and foxes are regularly seen. French Windows lead down a short flight of stone steps to an expansive lawned garden and decked terrace with table and chairs. The garden is enclosed.
Bedroom 1
Exceptionally spaceious room with a superking size double bed and large original sash windows. Wardrobe and chest
Bedroom 2
A further spacious and airy room, the twin beds can be converted to a superkingsize double upon request and for a small charge. Large wardrobe and original fireplace (not operational).
Bedroom 3
A pretty and sunny room with single beds, a wardrobe and chest.
Family Bathroom
There is a lovely, large family bathroom with freestanding cast iron bath with shower attachment, WC and antique vanity basin.
Shower Room
There is a separate shower room with feature exposed sandstone wall, shower cubicle and wash hand basin.
Cloakroom
A cloakroom with an antique suite can be found on the half-landing.
Please note that No. 5 Castle Street is a townhouse located on the main road running through the village, and traffic noise is to be expected especially in the rooms located to the front of the property. Parking right outside is usually easy but cannot be guaranteed as it is a public street. Pets and children should be kept under control and supervised at all times.
