A Perfect Luxury Cottage for Couples
This superb 19th century cottage is full of character and located in the centre of picturesque Warkworth Village, just yards from the banks of the River Coquet and the famous Mill Walk. Immaculately presented throughout, and furnished with great attention to detail, it's extremely comfortable for a couple or small family (cot and childs z-bed also available). Perfect at all times of the year, it has the benefit of a wood burning stove to complement full central heating in the cooler months.
Virginia Cottage is just a minute's walk to an excellent range of Northumbrian pubs, cafes, boutique style gift shops, an art gallery and even a French Patisserie and is centrally placed to explore the very best of Northumberland.
Ground Floor
Lounge
The spacious lounge has a woodburning stove and a large original Georgian sash window overlooking the pretty lane outside. There is a beautiful oiled oak dining suite to seat 4, Laura Ashley suite with an aged leather armchair and matching footstool, TV with digital channels, DVD, Hi-fi and a selection of books, DVD's and CD's. Free Wi-Fi Broadband internet access is also available (wireless only).
Kitchen
Accessed from the lounge and up 4 steps is a pretty, skylit rear hallway, from which the kitchen and bathroom lead off.
The kitchen is well-equipped with a large fridge/freezer, electric fan-assisted oven, ceramic hob, washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster and kettle. There is a breakfast bar with 2 stools and a glazed door opening out onto a pretty courtyard, giving access to the rear lane and with a table and chairs which belongs to the holiday cottage adjacent, but you are welcome to make use of them if not being used by the neighbours. Please note that dogs are not permitted to use this patio area for anything other than access to and from the lane.
Bathroom
The bathroom has a white suite, including a bath with mains shower over, WC and hand basin with a large mirror and toiletries cabinet.
First Floor
Bedroom with En Suite Washroom/WC
Upstairs there's a large bedroom with an en suite washroom/wc, which occupies the whole of the first floor. Dual aspect Georgian sash windows provide a lovely view of the river to the front and a village view over the rooftops to the ancient Church of St. Lawrence to the rear. This room is spacious enough to accommodate a cot and/or a folding single bed for a child of 12 or under in addition to the double bed (small extra charge for the additional bed).
