Reasons to Holiday with Your Dog
We understand that a dog is part of your family too, and a holiday wouldn’t complete unless you brought your furry friend with you. Here at Coquet Cottages, we welcome dogs at over 70% of our properties, so there’s never been a better time to get away!
From saving costs on kennel to enjoying quality time together, there’s so many benefits of holidaying with your furry friend, and we’ve listed some of the top reasons below.
1 – Family time
We don’t want to leave our dogs behind – after all, they are part of the family! Taking a break with your four-legged friend means you can spend lots of quality time with them without the usual distractions of everyday life. They will love making memories with you!
2 – No worrying about alternative care
Trying to find alternative care for your canine companion can be very stressful, and kennels can be very costly. Booking a holiday with your dog means you won’t be worrying about them while you’re away, and you won’t feel guilty for leaving them behind.
3 – Nothumberland is dog-friendly
From the beaches to the historic attractions and parks, Northumberland offers a whole range of places to visit which welcome dogs. You’ll find most cafes and pubs allow you to bring your pet, and even offer a water bowl for your pooch! Take a look at the Doggie Pubs website to discover dog-friendly pubs and cafes.
If you’re looking to visit somewhere where dogs aren’t permitted, we offer a dog-sitting service at most of our cottages so you can go out whilst we look after your dog.
4 – Get active
There are a whole host of countryside and coastal walks across Northumberland, and walking your furry friend is the perfect excuse to get out and explore the gorgeous landscapes whilst keeping active. No matter what the weather, the vistas you’ll encounter are simply breath-taking!
5 – Relaxation
It’s a fact that dogs help reduce stress for many people, but did you know your dog can also get stressed too? A holiday is the perfect opportunity for the whole family to escape the stresses of everyday life and get some much-needed relaxation.
