Guest Feedback for Crabcake Cottage
Our visitors’ book at Crabcake Cottage is great to read through over a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and provide a wealth of recommendations on the best places to eat and visit, as well as some useful tips to benefit other guests. We also send Guest Surveys to all our guests after their holiday and some of their comments are listed here too.
Many guests have listed recommendations for the same lovely places, such as Warkworth Beach, Alnwick Castle and Gardens, Barter Books, Holy Island and the Farnes, but for the sake of avoiding repetition in this particular format, we have omitted these recommendations, but they can still be read in full in the visitors’ books in Crabcake Cottage.
Really lovely cottage and very well equipped. We have had a lovely time exploring the area and enjoying the views and numerous castles! For good pub food (and lots of it) try the Masons Arms at Warkworth. Thank you Coquet Cottages.
This is a really loved cottage which is well equipped. We have had a lovely time exploring the area and have enjoyed visiting numerous castles. Try the Masons Arms for good pub food in Warkworth. It has been a very enjoyable stay. Thank you for Coquet Cottages.
This is a very nice cottage – well equipped and the location was good. We were impressed with your customer service.
Crabcake Cottage is in a great location and is comfortable and stylish. We enjoyed the sea views, the well equipped kitchen, the stylish décor, the powerful shower and the peace and quiet.
We’ve had a great week at Crabcake Cottage clean and luxurious. This property had fantastic Sea views and it was so peaceful. We spotted a pod of dolphins on two mornings. We did a great 7.5 mile circular walk to Low Newton and back via Embleton beach and Dunstanburgh Castle. We had a great day at Bamburgh Castle, the beach, Warkworth and Berwick. We would highly recommend Cragside House and can easily spend the whole day there. We had Box Pizza at Alnmouth, and visited Turnbulls in Alnwick which had a good food hall with lots of local produce.
This is an amazing place to stay. The toys in the children’s room were a lovely touch. This has been as fabulous stay in Northumberland and is our third stay with Coquet Cottages. The standard is always top notch.
Great places to eat are The Cottage Inn at Craster, The Fishing Boat Inn Boulmer. Bamburgh and Alnmouth beaches were both lovely too. We are looking forward to coming back soon.
Thank you for a very comfortable stay in a lovely house. Special thanks to the excellent housekeeping team.
Great house and loved the location. Due to Covid we did not go out to eat and brought all our food with us. My son in law brought his paddle board and was able to dry it off in the back garden. It was great we got in at 5pm and were able to leave at 10am.This |made a huge difference to our weekend. We are already booked with you for another weekend in September and are already so looking forward it. The play park close by was a huge hit too with our granddaughter.
The cottage had extra lounge/ sun room and a huge wet shower facility off its main bedroom. The garden at the back was huge and suitable for our dog. We liked the fact the the property was close to the coastal path, which was a huge bonus. In literally seconds we were heading to Dunstanburgh or Alnmouth. The welcome basket had a wow factor! One of the best we have had. On arrival the tea, milk and scones with butter and jam plus biscuits give us an afternoon tea which was a delicious start to the holiday. We liked the use of local products – the Alnwick ale, Marlish water and the sachets of organic coffee were eco friendly! An extra treat was the wine. The wee booklet was great, which was small enough to carry all the time. We also thought the doggie treats were a good idea and it was kind to remember the dog. The bar of chocolate finished it off perfectly. Crabcake was full of natural light because of extra windows. Inside and was a very sunny warm comfortable cottage. We liked the nautical theme throughout.
First stay at Crabcake but hopefully not our last. We all loved it here especially Jura. We walked the coastal path in both directions and we accompanied by the dolphins in the evenings. Thank you for our amazing welcome basket, we enjoyed all of it. Lovely scones when we arrived back.
Great House for 3 generations and a 2 years old, we appreciated the toys and the garden slide. Sadly we did not see any dolphins but the sea views were lovely.
We had a great stay in this delightful cottage. Very well equipped and clean, with many thoughtful touches we loved the décor and the general air of the property. We particularly appreciated the welcome basket filled with useful goodies such as bread and the large vase of beautifully arranged flowers was a really lovely touch. Thank you for a lovely holiday. We particularly appreciated the call and text message to ensure that everything was ok the morning after our arrival. It made us feel that we were getting a really personal service from you, which is not always the case with holiday letting companies.
This is a beautifully decorated cottage. We found it very clean and tidy, with lovely welcoming touches. We had some good walks to Low Newton, the pub is great for lunch. We also visited Alnmouth yesterday again the pub at Boulmer was a great lunch stop. We enjoyed Alnwick Gardens and had dinner out at The Joiners Arms in Newton by the Sea, and the Jolly Fisherman at Craster, both highly recommended.
Excellent cottage in a lovely location. The weather was superb! Recommended places for visit are The Jolly Fisherman, Dunstanburgh Castle Hotel, Dunstanburgh Castle Golf Club for food and a spot of golf, Eleanors Byre, a trip to Seahouses for fish and chips along with a visit to the Farne Islands, Turnbull in Alnwick and of course Bamburgh.
The Jolly Fisherman, the coastal walk from Craster to Dunstanburgh Castle, Low Newton Beach, Beadnell, Seahouses and the shoreline Cafe were firm favourites.
We loved how cosy it was, the views, how well equipped it was and the high quality little touches. The welcome basket provided nice treats, and we especially liked the fresh flowers and the scones.
Our second visit to Crabcake Cottage and we had a great holiday and good weather. Can recommend Embleton beach, Craster rock pools, Alnwick gardens, Shoreline Cafe and Dunstanburgh Castle. Looking forward to our next visit, thank you.
What a gem of a place!
Beautifully decorated and well equipped, perfect for a cosy long weekend with the kids. The welcome hamper was a real treat and a great surprise . I think it is safe to say we will be back for more beach-combing, rainy walks, great food and cosy fires!
Incredible accommodation for our family holiday. Had a wonderful time, especially spotting dolphins from the front terrace each evening. We had everything we needed and more in a beautiful location. Thanks very much and we look forward to returning.
We had a lovely stay in this idyllic part of Northumberland. The cottage has everything you need and more. It feels homely and relaxing with a brilliant garden and the play park is so close, not to mention the incredible view of the sea. We’d definitely stay here again.
Perfect for our family stay. Lovely location with a fantastic garden & terrace. The home had everything we needed and much more.
Great cottage. We loved the location and really well set up for families. We liked how spacious it was and the garden. Would definitely return.
We also enjoyed exploring the coast, Bamburgh Castle, Seahouses, Alnwick Garden, Cragside and we were incredibly lucky to have a week of sunshine! All in all a lovely holiday and we will definitely be back to Craster!
Never before have a I stayed in such a high spec cottage like Crabcake Cottage which also welcomes dogs. The team at Coquet Cottages made booking really easy and getting to the cottage was really easy. The Cottage was sparking clean and really well equipped. Beds were so comfy we slept in almost every day. The welcome hamper was a delight and the dog loved her welcome towel and treats. You could see the sea from every window and the cottage was really close to a football pitch and park as well as a fab pub, restaurant and cafe. We will definitely be back.
Fabulous house and location. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch and very much appreciated. We were lucky with the weather and managed lots of lovely walks. Our dog has been in her element. We will definitely be back.
The 3rd year in a row! We love it as always. Tried the Craster Fish restaurant this year – highly recommended (but book first!) Trip Highlight: Lobster + Chips – Bait at Beadnell. Embleton Beach – Bliss! RNLI day of Amble. See you next year!
Super accomodation. Well appointed, everything we could possibly need. Lovely welcome pack!
A wonderful stay in Crabcake Cottage! Top tip – Keep an eye out for Dolphins! Beautiful beaches, perfect for our little one’s first step onto sand. Cottage and garden clean, tidy and cosy.
It was a delight I loved the children’s bedroom and how the bedside table wall things were built and I loved the house and that I got the biggest wardrobe but mams and dads were the coolest thnx for letting us stay here kind regards xxx ps the sea view is lovely I wish I had a house as big as this but I like the house I live in but thank you for letting us stay lots of happiness in your lives pss I love this cottage so much I’m going to ask my mum and dad to come and stay here another week.
Had a fantastic weekend in Craster, cottage was lovely – very cosy and comfortable. Everyone in Craster was so friendly and welcoming and we learnt a lot about the village’s history through chatting to locals. Breakfasts at the ‘Rocking Horse Cafe and Gallery’ was fab and make sure to try the kippers from the smokehouse shop in the village! We were told you can’t leave Craster without trying them and we very much agree! There is a lovely walk you can do further inland, to the Linhope Spout – a beautiful little waterfall set in the most scenic Northumbrian valley. This walk was great to do with kids as well, even a lazy 10 year old boy managed it! Thanks so much!
