Guest Feedback for Fuchsia Cottage

Our visitors’ book at Fuchsia Cottage is great to read through over a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and provide a wealth of recommendations on the best places to eat and visit, as well as some useful tips to benefit other guests. We also send Guest Surveys to all our guests after their holiday and some of their comments are listed here too.

Many guests have listed recommendations for the same lovely places, such as Warkworth Beach, Alnwick Castle and Gardens, Barter Books, Holy Island and the Farnes, but for the sake of avoiding repetition in this particular format, we have omitted these recommendations, but they can still be read in full in the visitors’ books in Fuchsia Cottage.

Fuchsia Cottage was well equipped and fitted to a high standard.

We loved that we were able to get into both cottages early. Especially on our second week at Fuchsia cottage, when the cleaner surprisingly called us to say ready at 12noon.Thank you. We will definitely be booking through you again, the service was amazing, you were all so polite and easy to deal with. Thank you.

The property was very clean, well equipped and maintained. It was comfortable with a nice little garden and open aspect across the fields from the dining/kitchen area. It also had a good powerful shower and very comfortable beds. We enjoyed sitting in the sun on the patio or in the kitchen watching the birds in the garden.

The standard of cleanliness was superb as was the décor and the facilities in the cottage. The property was in a good quiet location. We enjoyed the open kitchen diner and the garden.

It was relatively close to some of the coastal walks and pets are not allowed, which was important to us because one of the party had allergies. The beds were extremely comfortable and we enjoyed the garden.

This was a brilliant cottage, it was so well appointed and we had a lovely time. We liked the location, we wanted to be near to the coast, yet not too far from Alnwick. Having stayed at various holiday cottages across the UK, Coquet Cottages owners easily provide the best welcome baskets. With a variety of basics like bread and milk and treats for both adults and kids, we were really pleased. We really rate Coquet Cottages!

Lovely, well-equipped house with an attractive garden and rear outlook over field and trees, where sheep and donkeys graze. The bed was super-comfortable. We decided to book this cottage because of its location, providing a base for us to complete the final stages of St Oswald’s Way.

A very comfortable and well appointed cottage. Deceptive from the outside! Very spacious inside. The additional measures taken by your housekeeping team to keep us and them safe in respect of Covid-19 were appreciated; you have really thought it through carefully. We were happy to comply with what you asked us to do.We appreciated that there was a bottle of ale in addition to wine and enjoyed the Border Ginger biscuits. We had a great week at Christon Bank – it wasn’t what we’d planned to do originally at this time but was just the break we needed. We are looking forward to our trip to Warkworth in 2021!

Nicely appointed and cosy house. Very modern internal and decor. Lovely. Fuchsia Cottage was nice and cosy on a cold November day. Log Burner gives such a great atmosphere in the living area. The house is like a tardis. The kitchen area is surprisingly big with all the modern trim. Cottage is absolutely perfect for us.

Beautiful cottage, comfy beds, lovely bedding, lovely to have roaring fires. Everything is first class! Thank you for having us, we shall be back!

Delighted with the inside and outside space and the level of equipment.

A perfect balance of cosy period cottage with modern, light and airy kitchen-diner and modern bathrooms and decor. A very good location for exploring the whole Northumberland coastline, with stunning Dunstanburgh just down the road. Probably the best equipped holiday cottage we have stayed in especially the kitchen, which made life very easy. Delicious welcome hamper. Being all on one level made the cottage ideal for us with young children and they enjoyed the garden and the animals in the field behind. We appreciated the helpful information and the contact from Coquet Cottages and the owner to ensure that all was well. Highly recommended!

Comfortable, peaceful and just the right size for the two of us. Lovely light kitchen and views of the sheep, horses and birds in the field.

Second visit, as wonderful as the first. Love this house – beautifully decorated, all home comforts, nespresso machine is so welcome and the views out the back are idyllic. Liked the sweets for the kids. Last time they left pumpkins as we were here at Halloween. Milk also very useful.

Beautiful cottage. Comfortable, well equipped. Ideally situated to explore the coastal route. High standard accommodation. No faults. A Spring holiday can be unpredictable weather wise, Fuchsia cottage looked comfortable and finished to a high standard. We needed somewhere warm and comfortable to return after a day exploring Northumberland. The cottage from the front looks tiny then you enter and it opens up. The kitchen dining area is a fantastic space, light and spacious. The garden is also lovely.

The moment that we walked through the door of Fuchsia Cottage we were so impressed – it exceeded expectation on every level – total perfection! Everything we needed was provided. We have had a fabulous week exploring Northumberland in Autumn. We have enjoyed coastal walks at Low Newton, Bamburgh and Craster. We loved visiting Cragside, Alnwick Gardens and Berwick Upon Tweed. However the best times were spent in front of the fire in this fabulous cottage – enjoying a glass of wine! Sorry to be leaving but we hope to come again soon. The hamper on arrival was a lovely surprise treat too. Thank you to Bob, Sarah and Coquet Cottages for a smoothly organised stay and a wonderful Cottage.

What a beautiful, well equipped and comfortable cottage. We had another fantastic time in Northumberland. Will definitely be back. Thanks again.

We loved your cottage. It was amazing for us, went on epic adventures like Alnwick Castle and sand dune boarding at Beadnell Bay. Can’t wait to come back!

We’ve had a fabulous week in Northumberland – wonderful walks, good weather and great food at The Potted Lobster in Bamburgh which was our favourite. The cottage is beautiful – comfortable, extremely well equipped and so peaceful. Thank you so much for the welcome hamper – we will definitely be back!

Thank you very much for sharing your fabulous cottage with us. We have had a most enjoyable, comfortable and relaxing time – we only wish we were staying longer.

Had a very enjoyable holiday made even more special by the lovely cottage. Thank you for the welcome pack and all the little ‘extras’

We have had a wonderful week discovering Northumberland. We have spent many years heading west to the Lake District but decided it was time to find new places to enjoy. We have loved walking along many of the beaches enjoying the clean sand, wide open blue skies and wild seas. We also enjoyed a day in-land at Cragside, again lots of walks to enjoy and different scenery. Lindisfarne was interesting but very blustery! The cottage has been beautifully refurbished and we love the afternoon sun at the back of the house and cosy evenings by the log fire. The kitchen is well equipped, and all the furnishings are good quality, we would definitely return.

We have had a lovely stay in this beautiful cottage. Would recommend the walk from Craster to the castle and a boat trip to see the deals! Had a lovely Indian meal in Seahouses. A wonderful, relaxing holiday!

Had a lovely stay in a beautiful cottage with a gorgeous garden! Spent many evenings enjoying the sun and wonderful views of sheep and horses, and had a BBQ out in the patio. A lovely furnished, clean cottage that we would definitely return to! We would recommend Billy Shiel’s Farne Island Boat Trips which sail from Seahouses. Our trip was fantastic and we were lucky enough to see many bottle-nose dolphins as well as seals and sea birds. It is not a trip to miss! Having tried all three fish and chip shops in Seahouses we would recommend Neptune’s Fish Bar – Delicious! Days out in Bamburgh and Alnwick were also enjoyed and numerous visits to Wyndenwell Ice Cream Parlour/Cafe in Bamburgh which is one of the best we have tried!! Overall we have enjoyed our stay, it has been a lovely and relaxed holiday! Thank you!

A beautiful cottage, very well appointed and with a lovely garden and views. The weather has been amazing and we have enjoyed visits and walks to Amble, Warkworth, Low Newton and Beadnell. We visited Holy Island and The Hirsel near Coldstream. We also took a boat trip from Amble to visit Coquet Island for the sea birds. Haven’t eaten out much, but would highly recommend The Thai Vibe Cafe in Alnwick and The Horseshoes Pub in Rennington. Keep an eye out for the resident barn owl, which was quartering the back field late night/early morning! A wonderful week – thank you.

Absolutely beautiful cottage! A really enjoyable stay and we would definitely come again. Had some lovely days out to Bamburgh Castle, Cragside House, Alnwick Gardens and Castle and many beautiful beach walks at Low Newton, Bamburgh and from Craster to Dustanburgh. Thank you.

We stayed at Fuchsia Cottage in June. The kitchen and dining area was open plan and the outside area was lovely with views over the flowering fields (and horses grazing!). We’ve previously booked a holiday with Coquet Cottages and enjoyed our second visit here.

We have really enjoyed our Easter weekend at this cosy cottage. It has a great location with lovely views of the lambs and horses just in the back garden! We would recommend fish and chips at Lewis’s at Seahouses, dining at The Potted Lobster at Bamburgh and a day trip to Cragside House and Gardens.

Wow! What a wonderful cottage Fuchsia Cottage is. Thank you so much to the owners Bob & Sarah, we’ll be very happy to book again!

Had a great few days in Fuchsia Cottage, really impressed with the beautiful scenery and it’s ideal location. We would really recommend a walk along to Dunstanburgh Castle, Sunday lunch at The Joiners Arms and ice cream from Spurellis at Amble. Overall, our family have had a wonderful stay and coming back to Fuchsia Cottage made the experience even more enjoyable! I’m sure this won’t be the last time we stay here.

Another wonderful holiday in this area and in this very cosy, comfortable cottage. Enjoyed sitting out and watching the birds, sheep and ponies. Thank you for such a warm welcome.

A lovely, comfortable cottage in a superb area. We always enjoy our visits to Northumberland and using Coquet Cottages. They never disappoint, the standard is always great! Enjoyed walking along the beach from Newton and Embleton. Alnwick Gardens was in full bloom. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We have really enjoyed our stay at Fuchsia Cottage. The weather has been beautiful too, we have been able to enjoy the garden and lovely surrounding scenery. We have enjoyed beautiful walks, fish & chips, local gelato and the lovely sandy beaches. Our little girl, Alice loved the garden and happily played on the grass with her toys. Thank you for providing such amazing accommodation.

Fuchsia Cottage is a nice cottage and we have really enjoyed our stay here. Beadnell Bay is lovely and Long Nanny was a great surprise. Thanks very much.
