Guest Feedback for Percy Cottage

Our visitors’ book at Percy Cottage great to read through over a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and provide a wealth of recommendations on the best places to eat and visit, as well as some useful tips to benefit other guests. We also send Guest Surveys to all our guests after their holiday and some of their comments are listed here too.

Many guests have listed recommendations for the same lovely places, such as Warkworth Beach, Alnwick Castle and Gardens, Barter Books, Holy Island and the Farnes, but for the sake of avoiding repetition in this particular format, we have omitted these recommendations, but they can still be read in full in the visitors’ books in Percy Cottage.

This is a really lovely cottage. Cosy, comfortable and well equipped. It was very handy having the Percy Arms next door and Village Shop around the corner. It had neutral décor and underfloor heating.

This was a lovely cottage which was very clean.

We had a brilliant stay. The cottage was just perfect and more than we had hoped for. It was amazingly well equipped, very comfortable and homely. We loved the smell of the property. That was what struck us first and it was so amazingly welcoming. I have now spent quite a bit buying the same fragrances so I can have them at home too. It really was perfect.

Percy Cottage is an ideal cottage for a couple having a week in Northumberland. It came up to the excellent standards that you expect from Coquet Cottages, everything needed was there. It had all the facilities you need on holiday, it was comfortable and had an enormous bed! It was good to be staying in a “normal” village rather than a postcard tourist-filled village, e.g. it was great to see the farmers’ tractors and equipment going by every evening while they were cutting the silage!

A beautiful little cottage in a lovely village, within easy driving distance of lots of attractions. I thought the welcome basket was a lovely touch and it was useful to have things like milk and bread there on arrival. It was very clean and beautifully decorated.

A friend recommended Coquet Cottages although she stayed in a different property. The website was great and the pictures made it clear that Percy Cottage was in a great location and very tastefully decorated. Our host Sand sent us a text message at 11am to advise that the cottage was ready and that we could access the cottage. Sandra was also great responding to our requests. The welcome basket came as a surprise, we have had them before but not everyone supplies them so we never take it for granted. The quality of the produce was excellent. The dog treats were also a nice touch as was the welcome card. Everything was great quality and the contents had been carefully considered and chosen. We even had a small torch in each bedside cabinet. Thanks for a lovely stay. Well done Sand – 10 out of 10.

Lovely cottage and very well equipped. Good communications from both the owner and Coquet Cottages. The bread and milk were very useful and the other things in the welcome basket were a nice treat.

Lovely well appointed cottage is a very friendly village, it was close to a lovely dog friendly pub. We enjoyed the underfloor heating.

A lovely location. Top marks for all! We really like the wine, crisps and chocolate and It’s always appreciated. Percy Cottage is comfortable and we loved the French style décor.

Lovely cottage. Perfect location. Really cosy and relaxing. Having used numerous Coquet cottages in the past we knew exactly what to expect and were not disappointed.

Having stayed previously in a cottage booked with Coquet Cottages we knew that the standard would be high. The bed at Percy Cottage was incredibly comfortable, and the dog treats are a lovely idea. It was absolutely beautiful.

we enjoyed the comfort, space and modern furnishings with excellent attention to detail. It was a fabulous cottage, that had everything we needed for a wonderful stay in Northumberland. We found the company very professional, and the cottages have always been first class when we have stayed before.

Have enjoyed staying in a lovely cottage situated in the beautiful countryside. Thanks for the welcome hamper – especially pleased it contained some fair trade items. We found the people at the shop very helpful and friendly. The pies they sell are excellent! And we went to see the Morris dancers outside The Percy Arms. We were persuaded to join and in and got a badge each! And finally – the book “Chatton, a Portrait” is fascinating.

We come from Cornwall so we are used to beautiful scenery but Northumberland has all the beauty with so much space. Percy cottage has been perfect in every way, we will be back for sure! The Percy Arms was a good night out but we loved the cottage so much we ate in and saved a fortune. It was brilliant to be able to bring our much loved dog who obeyed all the house rules!

Our first stay in Percy Cottage and we are already planning our return trip! The cottage is perfect for a couple and dog – we loved the beautiful interior, cosy log burner & fab location right next to the Percy Arms! We were blessed with sunny weather, so loved exploring the coastal villages and beaches of Northumberland. Craster to Lower Newton walk with a pint at The Ship Inn is a must and the Potted Lobster at Bamburgh would be our one recommendation for any seafood lovers. The Tree House at Alnwick is also a fab, unique experience! We will be back! Thank you

A glorious week in a perfect cottage for two. The landscape in Northumberland is truly outstanding. We’ve had some special days out in Cragside – fascinating Lord Armstrong. Lindisfarne. Newcastle and its seven bridges – who knew? Superb city. Bamburgh Castle and deserted beach Kielder Forest and Reservoir – beautiful as the sun was setting. Wallington with a beautiful riverside walk. Fantastic for bank holiday weekend.

We’ve had a brilliant time staying in Northumberland this week. We’ve been to some lovely places and to top off our holiday, we went to Lindisfarne today. What has made this break particularly special is staying in Percy Cottage. It’s such a relaxing place. Its just what we needed! Its cosy, comfortable and welcoming!

Beautiful cottage, very comfy bed. Great pies from the village store. Beadnell Bay is lovely, if you don’t mind driving 9 miles, college valley in the Cheviots is a beautiful 4.75 miles walk. Thanks for the lovely welcome pack.

A lovely second visit. Very friendly village, enjoyed meals next door and had a wonderful meal in the Potted Lobster, Bamburgh (must book). Walked at Simonside, paddled at Alnmouth and Bamburgh beaches. Cottage as comfortable and welcoming as before.

A lovely re-run of last year! A wonderfully relaxing time was had in your fab cottage – thank you.

A lovely four nights spent in a lovely cottage located in a tranquil setting. Fully endorse entries from previous visitors. Very comfortable surroundings and well stocked. Handy to have a pub on the doorstep! The wife and the dogs have certainly enjoyed their time here in a home from home atmosphere. No doubt we will return in the future and recommend to friends and families.

Absolutely beautiful and perfect for 2 people and a dog. We loved the Champagne! What a lovely touch. Also the fresh bread and overall quality of the ingredients. Location and comfortable bed, Lovely lounge and open fire.

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage and the doggy treats for our little dog Eddie… and the wine! We really liked the wood burning stove.

Our second visit. Lovely welcome pack. Very clean and super comfy bed. Village very friendly. Girls in the office are always so helpful and friendly when booking.

Lovely little cottage. Had a great time. Loads to do. Great pub next door – not noisy at all.

We’d stayed in Chatton before (at Hemmel Cottage) and liked the village. Booked at short notice, so took Percy Cottage which was available. It looked promising and lived up to promise. We always prefer a super-king bed! Having stayed with Coquet Cottages before, we knew we could rely on getting high quality accommodation. Cottage very clean and comfortable, especially the super-king bed. Chatton is a lovely, peaceful village, well placed for a variety of excursions, to the coast and inland. Useful village shop. Owners of cottage very helpful – texted to let us know we could get in before the appointed time. Would recommend property to other couples. Very quiet despite proximity to pub.

Wonderful cottage, well presented and extremely clean. Ideally located next door to The Percy Arms and staff were very friendly, the food was also excellent. The cottage is ideally located for viewing all the main attractions and a short trip to Berwick where you can catch a train to Edinburgh. Has a wonderful stay and would recommend. Sandra was very helpful making contact just before our arrival and even put the Christmas tree up before we got there!

Percy Cottage is a lovely well equipped and cosy cottage. The welcome basket was gorgeous and was nice that it was made personal with a note from the owner of the cottage.

Our second stay at Percy Cottage and we enjoyed it as much as last year. A great base to explore the surrounding area.

A truly fantastic stay! Our first time in Northumberland and we’ve fallen for it, hook, line & sinker.

Absolutely fantastic holiday. Cottage absolutely perfect. Really well equipped, comfortable & gorgeous décor. Everything has been done to a high standard. We’ve found our time here really relaxing. We’ve had hot weather all week & done lots of walking.

Your cottage is fabulous. Comfy, cosy and quiet. We enjoyed staying here.

Beautiful cottage for two in a really good spot for seeing all our old haunts & new ones. Weather perfect – thank you.

We have had a wonderful stay in Percy Cottage! beautifully decorated and the most amazing bed! We particularly enjoyed a day in Edinburgh which is just 40 minutes way by train from Berwick-upon-Tweed. Thank you for a lovely stay.

A wonderful stay in the amazing Percy Cottage. it has been a brilliant introduction to the fantastic sights of Northumberland. We have really enjoyed our trips to Bamburgh castle and Holy Island.

The cottage was beautifully decorated, and very comfortable and quiet!

Our first visit to Northumberland, a beautiful county and coastline to rival any in the UK. Lovely part of England and lovely people.

A lovely cottage with all the conveniences you require, like home from home! It was a perfect cottage to spend a nice holiday – pity the weather didn’t match up to the cottage. We were very well satisfied and would not hesitate in going again.

Forgot to bring tea and coffee so good to be able to have a drink immediately without going shopping. Fresh flowers were a lovely touch too!

Fantastic cottage and we are now hoping that the Watermill Cottage at North Charlton is as nice when we stay at the end of April!

The welcome pack was a lovely welcoming touch – made us feel that our holiday had definitely started. The cottage was very tastefully decorated and had everything in it that we could possibly need!

Thank you for a wonderful stay in this beautiful county. The cottage is clean, cosy and well equipped. It’s also in a great location – so close to Lindisfarne, The Cheviots and The Borders. The Percy Arms Pub is also a bonus and well worth eating in there with great real ales.

Thank you for a wonderful, relaxing stay at your beautiful cottage. The whole place is totally relaxing, comfortable and peaceful place to stay. We slept fantastically in the incredibly comfortable bed.

Second visit to Percy Cottage and just as enjoyable as the first one. We would recommend a trip to Tynemouth, Riley’s Fish Shack and Sunnyhills Farm Shop in Belford.

Wonderful stay in a cosy and perfectly appointed cottage. Beautiful environs with plenty to explore. We’ll be back!

Lovely cottage! Our favourite walk was Craster to Low Newton – absolutely fabulous! A lovely breakfast can also be had in the Percy Arms next door.

Excellent accommodation which provided all our needs. It’s location give away access to the coast.
