Guest Feedback for Seascape
Our visitors’ book at Seascape is great to read through over a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and provide a wealth of recommendations on the best places to eat and visit, as well as some useful tips to benefit other guests. We also send Guest Surveys to all our guests after their holiday and some of their comments are listed here too.
Many guests have listed recommendations for the same lovely places, such as Warkworth Beach, Alnwick Castle and Gardens, Barter Books, Holy Island and the Farnes, but for the sake of avoiding repetition in this particular format, we have omitted these recommendations, but they can still be read in full in the visitors’ books in Seascape.
Had a very relaxing stay & property has all home comforts. Everything was made easy on booking this holiday. Very happy with everything Coquet Cottages has provided. Highly recommend and will be booking again.
Everything was perfect & the staff we spoke to were very friendly & professional & we were exceptionally grateful for the early check in that was arranged by them for us. The welcome basket was very good – good selection for first day – Dogs loved the chewy stix! Felt like home from home straight away & the views! Keep up the good work, we will hopefully be back soon.
Ideal situation, beautifully presented, clean and comfortable. From our previous booking with you we knew of the high standard of your properties, which you also present well on your website. The welcome packet was a surprise, it was lovely thank you. The scones! And the butter! Views, situation, cleanliness, quality of all equipment, towels, bedding etc + little extras.
We liked the view and the cottage looked beautiful. Everything it was lovely, It’s a beautiful cottage with beautiful views.
Seascape came recommended to us as it is dog friendly and was bookable through Coquet Cottages. From word go I found them excellent and replied to our queries promptly and efficiently, so the service being excellent would recommend Coquet Cottages if looking to book in Northumberland. Our holiday let Seascape, looks out onto the harbour/Estuary mouth and boardwalk and views of the sea. it has a large well maintained through lounge kitchen complete with everything you need. Supplied on arrival was a basket of staples from fresh bread milk butter tea coffee and scones bottle of wine which was a nice touch. Also there was a goody basket for our dog which was a nice touch.
Upstairs is a master bedroom with ensuite with outlook the same as the lounge and a a twin bedroom which gives view of the bay on the opposite side with family bathroom. There was a welcome information pack crammed with good Ideas on walks sites to visit pubs and local restaurants etc and we also received a text from the owner welcoming us which was a nice touch.Very clean and tidy and comfy bed and a short walk from the town. Couldn’t fault the experience at all from start to finish.

We were looking for a dog friendly house and our cousins had stayed and recommended it. Very nice place and well furnished with good location, the fresh bread and marmalade was a nice touch.
Our 4th stay and very happy to be here again. Awful weather but it hasn’t stopped us walking along the coast and using the local amenities. Just love this holiday home and would only ever stay here in Amble. Booked for next year! It has the sea view. It is quiet and relaxing. The size is perfect and it is very comfortable. Great scones, bread and wine. The sea view is amazing.
Comfortable and cosy. Well equipped. Fantastic sea views from lounge! We wanted a Quick weekend away and the accommodation looked good. The view from lounge was Fantastic to listen to and watch the crashing waves when the tide was coming in. We was given bread, milk, wine and mini jams and individual biscuits in the welcome basket!
Superb location with beautiful views, the location was appealing as I wanted to stay in Amble. The wine was nice!
We stayed for 3 nights at Seascape Cottage in Amble. What a gem of a place! Spectacular views across to the lighthouse plus a lovely sunset on one night. The cottage was perfect for the three of us as it had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and all was spotless. The welcome pack included delicious scones and muffins, far above what we expected. Our hosts had to repair some bulbs but were unobtrusive and helpful. A great place to stay and we shall return.
A gorgeous newly built house literally right on the sea front with fabulous views. The owners also let us a beautiful hamper including fresh bread and scones from the local baker as well as milk, butter and wine! Seascape has been decorated beautifully in a seaside theme and has been fitted out to a very high spec and even had toiletries for each guests. Amble is a lovely place and we loved walking on the pier which takes you directly from the cottage right into the harbour and all the amenities, including lots of excellent places to eat and drink and quirky shopping huts. Also there is a market there every Sunday. We were very blessed with summer weather in February, which was a bonus! All in all, a lovely stay and we would love to visit again sometime.
Another wonderful stay made better by kind touches of a hamper and a Christmas tree. We really love this property and it will be hard to find a better one. The view from the lounge is superb, we never tire of it.
We have had a wonderful week in this very comfortable home. The view has to be the best.
We have eaten great seafood, walked and walked and enjoyed some beautiful sunshine.
Jasper’s restaurant in Amble was superb – a real treat for a special occasion.
Thank you for the welcome hamper and the doggy hamper, both much appreciated. Taking home a tired but happy dog.

A week of indulgence, superb food, castles and walks. The sunshine, the birds sang. A very happy, relaxed break for the two of us and our dog! Looking forward to returning!

Sadly our week has been drawn to a close and we must leave this wonderful place. The view is the best we’ve had and there have been some beautiful sunsets, wild and crazy seas and laughs as we’ve watched the brave and foolish walkers on the jetty at high tide as the waves splash over the breakwater. We’re seen castles, beaches, quaint and lovely places of spectacular scenery. The hose is quite simply, the best comfortable, clean and well equipped place you could possibly need. Thank you Jim & Christine. It’s been superb.

We have had a wonderful short week at Seascape. The house and views are excellent. Luckily the weather has been kind to us which enabled us to get out and explore the Northumberland coastline, even if ‘Storm Ali’ was a little fierce on Wednesday at Alnwick Gardens!
The house is well equipped, lots of information sheets and advice of places to visit. The neighbouring building works next door didn’t disturb us at all. Thank you also for the hamper on arrival, much appreciated.

We have fallen in love with Northumberland.
A castle on every corner and miles of white sandy beaches. We loved Amble and it’s busy harbour. People are so friendly here. The walk to Warkworth by the river has so much wildlife. Bertram’s in Warkworth for the best hot chocolates, they’re also dog friendly. Cabosse for it’s handmade chocolates and Nicole Fenwicks Gallery.
The Fish Shack on Amble Harbour has the best fish and chips, a lovely welcome and they’re dog friendly.
Our favourite place was Alnmouth, such a quaint village that had the best beach. Scott’s Grocer’s opposite The Village Tea Rooms make the best take out coffees and the most delicious pies, and quiches.
We are going to miss our early walk with the dogs along the jetty watching the fishing boats go to sea and sitting at the patio watching the waves. We will be back.
We have had a very enjoyable stay in a well equipped and comfortable property, with a lovely view out to the sea.
We have had great day out at Alnwick Castle and Gardens and also visited Howick Gardens and Arboretum and a lovely walk along the beach at Low Newton.
Northumberland has so much to offer and no doubt, we will return at some time.

This is a great location for exploring the area and Amble itself. An excellent meal at The Boat House and of course another visit to Alnwick Gardens. It is also the best place in Amble to sit and watch all the activity in the harbour. We all really enjoyed our week.
Thank you for a lovely stay in a beautiful house – the views were stunning and the kids loved their cosy bedroom and the living room! We enjoyed trips to the seaside, including the beautiful ‘sugar sands’ followed by a yummy meal at The Fish Shack. Barter Books was fun as always and yesterday we took the little Etal steam engine which our toddler loved. A great stay.
The Gibson Family
We have loved every minute of our week away at Seascape. The view is wonderful and the cottage is extremely well equipped. The owners have thought of everything to ensure this is the perfect holiday cottage – struggled to find any flaws, we will be back!
Amazing dinner at The Old Boathouse in Amble Harbour, well worth a visit for lunch or dinner. Great day out at Alnwick Gardens, another must! Cragside was simply stunning but take walking shoes!
Thank you again, we hope to return.
The Brooks Family
The three of us have enjoyed a great mini-break in Amble.
This accommodation has surpassed our expectations and thank you for the lovely welcome pack.
We have walked along the beaches, sampled the local cuisine, enjoyed a drink on the balcony of the yacht club!
We have felt very at home in the house which is very well equipped, clean and comfortable. We had one glorious sunset as well. Our hope is to return next year and explore the area further. Thank you.

Stayed for a week in the lovely Seascape, many hours spent enjoying the view and sunset! Seascape is modern and comfortable, easily accommodating children. The weather was so kind to us, lots of fishing and crabbing off the pier was spent as a fun past time! Thank you for a wonderful stay. Happy family holidays made!
We have had the best time here in Amble! Superb accomodation, fabulous views and truly amazing weather. So lucky.. enjoyed the castle at Warkworth. Exce;;ent breakfasts at Bertams.
Do visit Barter Books in Alnwick – such a quirky, interesting place.
Loved Alnmouth – great beach and so much more. The links golf course is the second oldest course in the country!
There is just so much to see and explore- have fun.

Thank you so much for a lovely relaxing holiday, a beautiful cottage with stunning views across the coastline, sitting out on the veranda of an evening with a few drinks watching the world go by after day trips out is highly recommended. Managed to do four castles; Alnwick, Warkworth, Chillingham and Alnwick Castle which are stunning and would definitely recommend it.
Our two dogs have also enjoyed it with lovely walks along the pier, the beach and the sand dunes.
Thank you also for the welcome basket for both us and our dogs. Loved it so much on our last night we went online and booked for next year at the sister property of Seascape, Bay view! Thank you.

I’ve struggled to remember the date just now, so chilled and relaxed we’ve become during the last four days at Seascape.
The house is beautiful, obviously the view is amazing and quite unique. Everything has been so well thought through it’s made being on holiday very easy and enjoyable.

What a wonderful stay here at Seascape.
The house is decorated and furnished to a very high standard. The beds are super comfortable and a good night sleep was had by all. This is our tenth visit to Northumberland and i’m always staggered at the beauty of the coastline and all the castle, so many to see – but we’ve managed it!
This trip has been amazing. I’m already looking forward to my next visit. Thank you so much for making this such a brilliant trip.
We have had a wonderful stay in your holiday home. The accommodation had everything we needed and a fantastic view to top it off! We had trips out to Alnwick, Bamburgh, Alnmouth and Warkworth plus coastal walks from the cottage. The beaches in the area are fantastic for all of us and especially our cockapoo pup! We found all of Northumberland very dog friendly. Hope to return to explore more.

We really enjoyed our stay here, a nicely appointed house and fantastic views of the sea. Visted the Farne Islands to see the bird colonies which was very good trip from Seahouses with Billy Shiels boats. Days out at Craster, Bamburgh and Cragside. For local eateries we tried The Old Boathouse and The Fish Shack which we thought were excellent value. Further afield we went to Bistro 23 at Alnmouth. For a good coastal walk try the walk from Craster – Dunstanburgh and then lunch at The Ship Inn at Newton by the Sea. We hope to come back sometime.

Beautiful place to stay with a wonderful view – which we enjoyed -watching the sea and the changing tides – very restful.
We visited Bamburgh and after a walk on the beach treated ourselves to lunch at The Lord Crewe Hotel – dog friendly and good food!
Warkworth beach is worth a visit and lunch in Bertrams. Great food and dogs are welcome! For lovely fish try The Fish Shack – recommend the sardines.
Thank you for the welcome hamper and the thoughtful touches – fluffy white towels and White Company toiletries.
We return home feeling spoilt by this special place – we hope to be back.

We have had a lovely week at Seascape, and the weather has been kind to us. It was a pleasure to watch the sea clashing against the harbour wall in bed with a cuppa!Walking distance to delicious places to eat, and visits to many super beaches and hidden ones too! Meg our aged border terrier was fascinated looking out through the panoramic window. Thanks to Jim and everyone concerned with our stay.
The Crossleys and Meg (The Dog!)
Another lovely stay in Coquet Cottages property, this time with a view to remember. We will miss looking out over the bay and watching the waves crashing over the pier.
The property is lovely to come back to after a day of exploring: warm, spotlessly clean and well-appointed. It has been especially nice being so close to Amble and it’s attractions.
We recommend a visit to The Village Tea Rooms in Alnmouth for delicious lunches and homemade cakes. The staff are super friendly and our dog was made so welcome.
Another gem is The Joiners Arms in High Newton which is worth the half an hour drive for a great dining experience in lovely surroundings. Again our dog was welcomed by the lovely staff!
Special thanks to Christine and Jim, the owners of Seascape and their lovely housekeeper Carly for their efforts to get the place ready.
The Philips Family
Seascape is a wonderful holiday cottage! Immaculate, well equipped and has some really great views. The best welcome basket ever received upon arrival which was tailored to us which was wonderful. The birthday present for our little boy was also a great touch.
Thank you very much for letting us be the first to stay in your seaside cottage. The views are incredible; we loved watching the waves at high tide and the area was really dog-friendly. We enjoyed The Masons Arms in Warkworth followed by a nice walk away down the river.
