Many guests have listed recommendations for the same lovely places, such as Warkworth Beach, Alnwick Castle and Gardens, Barter Books, Holy Island and the Farnes, but for the sake of avoiding repetition in this particular format, we have omitted these recommendations, but they can still be read in full in the visitors’ books in The Hayloft in Chatton.

The Hayloft at Chatton is a lovely property and beautifully appointed in a perfect location.
We loved Chatton! The property was very nicely kitted out. We appreciated the comfortable chairs and sofas. The quality of the TV was excellent and the Villeroy and Boch bathroom fittings. There was excellent storage for dog stuff and walking gear. The owner was really easy to contact and replied straight away to queries that we had. We had a super week, we LOVED Ingram and the Breamish valley.
This is a lovely homely cottage that was well furnished with excellent facilities. The Welcome hamper was a generous touch. The lounge kitchen dinner worked really well and the beds were comfortable.
This property catered for the needs of our group, it had plenty of bathrooms and was a well equipped home. The location was ideal for sightseeing in the area, and the pub was within walking distance. We thought it was great that the welcome basket included treats for the children.
Beautiful cottage, with every luxury you could need, and it was absolutely spotless. We booked for a family weekend to celebrate my 70th birthday and it was fabulous. Will definitely be back! The grandchildren loved the idea of an upside down house. The welcome basket provided had something for everyone. We thought the property was luxurious specially all the furniture and fittings. When the owners found out it was my 70th birthday they very kindly left me a bottle of champagne. Lovely extra touch.
This was a really lovely, comfortable cottage of the highest standards. We liked the location and nearby pub which had a good food.
Finding a dog friendly cottage that is so clean and doesn’t cause my sons allergies to dogs to flare up is a rare find! We have Cockapoos so they do not affect his dog allergy. Very well equipped with everything excellent quality – the pans Utensils and crockery. All of it was lovely!

House is fabulous, good time had by all. Very well equipped, you have thought of everything. Would definitely recommend. Love all the personal touches. The Christmas decorations are fab.
Had a wonderful, relaxing stay at The Hayloft. A really beautiful and comfortable home, the beds are super comfy. The Hayloft has everything you need. Loved the hamper. Also enjoyed a meal in the Percy Arms, bonus being dog friendly. We absolutely love Northumberland and can’t wait to return. Thanks for the beers.
Thank you so much for the text and the champagne – much appreciated. The Hayloft is absolutely beautiful and we’ve settled in really well. The girls had great fun picking our their room when we arrived. Looking forward to our break up here. It’s our first time visiting Northumberland and we’re loving it already!
What a lovely cottage. Another fabulous find from Coquet Cottages. This is definitely a 5 star cottage with lots of little touches which made our stay so enjoyable. We’ve had a great time celebrating a 70th birthday. The kids (of all ages) enjoyed the games. Articulation was a great success and provided hours of fun and laughter. The sweetie jigsaw proved a bit of a challenge. We only managed to do 25% over the weekend. We must come back and stay for a week so we can finish it!
Immaculate, quiet and good for kids and pets. Very good location for tripping around Northumberland. Good local pub, Percy Arms just 150 yards away with great Sunday lunch. Would revisit The Hayloft if I return to the area. Owner and Coquet were very helpful.
Thank you for a wonderful stay, Your house is so inviting and I love all the extra detail you provided. A true home from home.
A lot of love and attention has been put into this property. Love the Laura Ashley, handy tips section in the Guest Information Pack and the toiletries!
Superb accommodation! Spotlessly clean & very well appointed. Excellent communication and great value. We liked all of the welcome basket! Champagne, beer, snacks and even a treat for the kids. Good layout and quality of the fixtures/fittings.
A lovely well maintained home in Chatton enough space for 8 people. Well equipped home and lovely decor throughout, very cosy and quiet. The beds are super comfy and the showers are superb, this home has everything you could wish for to ensure a relaxing holiday. The Percy Arms is a five minute walk and is dog friendly and the food and hospitality is excellent.
Well appointed at a great location. The hayloft has 4 superb bedrooms The living accommodation is on the first floor giving views of the village and surrounding countryside. Quiet and private but just a short stroll to the Percy Arms. The Welcome Basket was catered for a range of guests including the children and dog. Spacious living/dining accommodation on first floor.
We had a really enjoyable stay, it was a lovely place to stay, would use it again if we came to this part of the country again. This cottage was spacious and accommodated us with lots of room to spare. The welcome basket was very nice and we used most of the items inside it! The cottage was very warm and comfortable, I liked the wood burner, although we did not use it on this stay as the central heating more than met our needs.
5 star property in the centre of the village. Superbly appointment with the living quarters upstairs. So well insulated that you don’t need to use the modern log fire. Four smashing bedrooms spoil you for choice, would make a great place for a family reunion or time with friends. All you can wish for and more. The space inside was amazing so well thought out. bedrooms, bathrooms and shower rooms were superb. Having the living, dining and kitchen open plan and on the first floor is a stroke of genius.
