Guest Feedback for Wildhope View
Our visitors’ book at Wildhope View is great to read through over a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and provide a wealth of recommendations on the best places to eat and visit, as well as some useful tips to benefit other guests. We also send Guest Surveys to all our guests after their holiday and some of their comments are listed here too.
Many guests have listed recommendations for the same lovely places, such as Warkworth Beach, Alnwick Castle and Gardens, Barter Books, Holy Island and the Farnes, but for the sake of avoiding repetition in this particular format, we have omitted these recommendations, but they can still be read in full in the visitors’ books in Wildhope View.
Beautiful stay & cosy for two with lovely walks from the front door. Highly recommended and can’t wait to return. At the moment you look at the cottage then check availability – frequent disappointment when things are fully booked. But so easy just to speak to Coquet Cottages – a list of available cottages meeting our requirements was emailed in less than 20 minutes. Cottage was incredibly clean with very helpful notes everywhere. Gave us lots of confidence for our post-Covid 19 return. We liked the view and soothingly decorated, clean, fresh, lovely warm cottage. The owners Sarah and Jules were incredibly kind and thoughtful and made us feel as though our little holiday was the most important thing in the world. Thank you for that! Thank you for making our little dog welcome too, we wouldn’t be going anywhere without her. The whole basket makes you feel so welcome – Milk, lovely coffee. We only stayed 2 nights so much more than we could eat. But very appreciated as all local and delicious. Doggy basket so nice too. Thank you.
Perfect location and wonderful views, it’s hard to beat.
We have had a blissful week, blessed with blue skies which only enhanced the amazing views, not least from the wide windows of Wildhope View. Our focus has seen the coastline; we have walked most of the beaches from Warkworth up to Budle Bay. Bamburgh and Budle are stunning with such wide expanses when the tide is right out overlooked by castles far and near. Beadnell and Embleton were the favourites. The Puffin Cruise from Amble to Coquet Island was a joy. Alnmouth is a lovely place to mooch around. Thank you.
What a wonderful property! Thank you Jules & Sarah for making this such a special, luxurious but still dog-friendly place. It certainly deserves all of it’s five stars – we would have given it 6! You have thought of everything one needs. We were particularly impressed by the wealth of information on things to do, plus of course the super welcome pack of goodies not just for the humans but for Ruby too! The local walk round the viaduct is to be recommended – lovely & quiet.
We would re-name Wildhope View as ‘view to wake up to’ – sublime, delightful and a great way to start the day. Simba – our hearing dog in training has connected with the cows – definitely on woof woof and moo moo terms! Our recommendations would be just to walk and enjoy the countryside and beaches. Feast and drink in the local pubs or cafes then come back to this wonderful place, light the fire and soak up the backdrop.

What an amazing week! The weather has been so glorious. We’ve enjoyed the lovely scenery and especially the seaside. More so, we’ve been so comfortable and able to relax in this lovely cottage – home from home every day. We’ll miss the stunning views to wake up to and enjoy each day. There’s so much more to enjoy and love, that we may well return. It seems the weather will soon change, so we are glad we chose this week. Thanks for providing so many little extras – all much appreciated.

We had an amazing honeymoon at Wildhope View. The cottage was lovely, it had everything we needed and more! Perfect, peaceful setting. We enjoyed all our days out in Northumberland including Alnwick Castle & gardens, Warkworth Castle, Howick gardens and even went to Barter Books three times! Thank you for a lovely holiday (our first as Mr & Mrs!).

A wonderful week in this beautiful cottage. Absolutely loved the view, the place is spotless and the decor is delightful and calming. Very relaxing- a much appreciated break from our usual busy days! We will miss the views and the big skies!
From the moment we arrived we were captivated by the glorious view and never tired of it. Thank you to Jules and Sarah for making us so welcome. We had lovely trips to Warkworth, Dunstanburgh and Bamburgh Castles. A boat trip to The Farne Islands and even dipped our toes in Scotland!
Can’t wait to return! And many thanks to Coquet Cottages for making everything so easy.
What we did and enjoyed – Alnmouth to Craster walk (15KM) lunch and The Jolly Fisherman. Bamburgh beach – always a fare. The butcher’s does great steak and sausages. Walk Alnmouth to Warkworth followed with cakes at Cabosse and drinks at The Mason’s Arms.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Gorgeous views, lovely peace and quiet. The cottage is really well planned one of the most spacious one bed cottages we have stayed in we have been coming to Northumberland for 4 years (every September for the dog’s birthday!) we have stayed in Amble, Warkworth in previous years. This years was great having the pretty village of Alnmouth on our doorstep. We will be back.
As we were only here for three nights we did not travel very far, however would recommend a meal in the Red Lion in Alnmouth and a crab sandwich. At the Shoreline Cafe in Craster. From previous visits to the area a trip to Holy Island is a must – but first check the tide times carefully. Thank you Sarah and Jules for a wonderful few days – we would love to return.
Wildhope View looked very impressive online, and the ‘real thing’ did not disappoint – certainly deserving of 5-stars. It is clean much thought has been put into the design and furnishing.equipping of the property. We particularly liked the comprehensive welcome pack which meant we didn’t need to rush out to the supermarket straight away. Also of note are the stunning views, particularly from the bedroom, we enjoyed watching the trains going by and got quite excited whenever we saw one! Sarah was very solicitous, shown by the welcome card and texts during our stay – but not at all intrusive. We would loved to have stayed longer but as we were unable to book early, availability was very limited – obviously others were just as impressed by Wildhope View.
We have been coming to this part of Northumberland for 10 years, often twice a year and stayed in a variety of cottages. None compare with this. It is simply the best and fully deserves it accreditation. The comfort, decor, quality of fittings and appliances, attention to detail, and hospitality are all first class. We would like to come back.
Everything in the welcome basket was just right, the location & the high standard of furnishings/equipment.
Absolutely first class, we’ve stayed there before. As previously, everything was perfectly in order. The cottage has been cleverly and thoughtfully designed and equipped. The Welcome Hamper fairly comprehensive and everything included was of high quality. Fantastic views.
Stunning cottage. It was immaculately clean, modern, beautifully decorated and had everything we needed to have a lovely relaxing break. The cottage was centrally located, so we were able to travel around Northumberland taking in sights and beautiful coastline. The welcome hamper had everything we needed for the first night so we didn’t feel we had to rush out and find a shop.
A first class property. Decor, furnishings, appliances and hospitality of a very high standard. It had a unique setting with a private enclosed garden. We liked the space and comfort.
One of the best for views and location.
A stunning property, beautifully decorated and furnished, with extensive views over the countryside and a stone’s throw from the coast. the place is modern; very well equipped with high quality furnishings and everything you could need. The location a few miles outside Alnwick and on the outskirts of Alnmouth is perfect for exploring all the gems Northumberland has to offer. We have stayed at several properties managed by Coquet cottages and have never been disappointed. The standard is very high and the owners of the properties and the staff at Coquet cottages are helpful and keep in contact to ensure your stay is the best.
Beautifully appointed property. Spotlessly clean and complete with quality at every turn. Open views; beautiful furnishings. Great to have the basics of bread, butter and milk as well as the treats in the welcome basket! We liked the views, the comfortable furnishings and the calm, modern décor. Fabulous company. All the properties we have stayed at over the years have been superb. We have great confidence booking with you.
A wonderful cottage with a great view. Fabulous welcome basket too. Sarah and Jules were very welcoming. Appreciated the welcome text. Have used Coquet Cottages several times and will use again in the future – thank you.
Absolutely top quality cottage.
This is such a private and peaceful property. It feels very open and spacious inside and has wonderful panoramic views from both upstairs and down. The outside seating area is private and not overlooked at all. The property is extremely well equipped and the welcome pack was very generous.
Me and my wife spent a fantastic week at Wildhope View, in Bilton just outside Alnmouth for our honeymoon at the start of May. The cottage was spotless, everything inside is finished to the very highest quality. The layout of the cottage is perfect and just fitted with everything we wanted for our honeymoon. The open plan kitchen and lounge is lovely, and the view from sitting on the sofa over the fields is amazing. The garden outside is perfect and maintained beautifully, there is a decking walkway to the end of the garden where there is a table and chairs. Our morning coffee sat there watching the birds and looking towards the viaduct was perfect and something that we will always remember. The bedroom is of the same standard as everywhere else and the large windows opening onto the small balcony enables you to have an even better view across the fields.
As the area is so still and quiet around the cottage and the darkness over the fields at night meant that the evening view of a sky full of stars was amazing.
The welcome pack when we arrived was lovely, the special touches of a wedding card and beautiful flowers made our arrival even more special. I cannot speak highly enough of Wildhope View and would 100% recommend for a fantastic relaxing break in a spotless and beautiful cottage with everything you could need.
Stayed here for a week with our dog a fantastic one up and one down but modern and spacious with everything you need, enclosed garden and walks from the door.Would definetly recommend. Coquet Cottages have a great market for quality with dogs.
We had a fantastic week in this glorious country cottage . Walking distance from Alnmouth and the superb beaches of the Northumberland coast. Owners have thought of everything! Dog friendly too! Can’t wait to return.
Perfect for two with every possible amenity and allowing two dogs is unusual and so welcome. The thoughtfulness of having individual items for each of our dogs was lovely, especially as they were named. The card and e-mail from Sarah and Jules was also lovely as it recognised we had been to the cottage before. The amount of facilities packed into a cottage for 2. The views aren’t bad either!! We now are experts on the timetable of trains at Alnmouth station! We have stayed in 4 or 5 Coquet Cottages and the extra touches that Sarah provides when you visit make Wildhope View extra special.
