Perfect for small families, couples holidaying together or for a romantic weekend, Cobblestone near Seahouses is the ideal retreat in a quiet and calm area of North Sunderland, less than a mile easy stroll into Seahouses. Cobblestone has everything you need for a relaxing holiday on the Northumberland coast yet is close enough to lots of different attractions and a choice of wonderful beaches when you want to get out and explore.
Seahouses is a bustling, traditional fishing village with some pretty shops, quirky pubs and of course the best fish and chip shops in the North! The picturesque harbour is very interesting and completely open to the public which is quite unusual. You can watch the local fisherman bring in the days catch full of lobsters, crabs and fish straight from the trawlers. Cobblestone is also within walking distance of St. Aidan’s beach which has the most amazing backdrop of magnificent Bamburgh Castle.

Cobblestone is a cosy and quaint cottage, decorated in soothing coastal hues, with 2 bedrooms and 2 shower rooms, ideal for 2 couples holidaying together. The open plan dining area and lounge has a relaxed vibe where you can all relax together. The dining table seats 6 and the kitchen is well equipped with everything you should need. There is also a private, enclosed patio to the front with furniture to seat 4 which can be accessed from the lounge. There is free Wi-Fi broadband access available throughout the cottage and up to two well behaved pets are very welcome.
Cobblestone is in a great central location from which to explore all of Northumberland, including Bamburgh (just 5 minutes drive), Alnwick, Holy Island and The Borders. There are excellent swimming pools at Berwick (with flume and wave machine) and Alnwick, around 25 minutes’ drive.
Accessed from the hallway, the lounge is beautifully furnished and very comfortable. The patio doors let in lots of natural light and open onto an attractive private patio with patio furniture, planted with interesting flowering shrubs.
There’s a flat screen Smart TV and DVD/CD player as well as a selection of books and games for all ages.
The dining area is open plan to the lounge creating an informal relaxed vibe, with a lovely oak dining table and chairs.
The kitchen is very well equipped and beautifully finished, with luxury cabinets and granite work surfaces. All the usual appliances are here including an electric oven and gas hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, microwave, kettle and toaster.
The ground floor shower room has a shower, basin and WC. Complimentary toiletries provided.
As you head up the stairs you come to a spacious landline area with a sofa for relaxing, which then leads into the two bedrooms.
Master Bedroom with En Suite Shower Room
This pretty bedroom has a king-size bed (5ft wide) with pocket sprung mattress and base, under-bed storage, set of drawers and a flat screen TV with built-in DVD player, DAB radio as well as a Velux window. The en suite has a walk-in shower, WC and hand wash basin.
This quaint room has 2 full size single beds (3ft wide), under-bed storage, a DAB radio, wardrobe and velux windows.
The pretty patio garden is accessed from the lounge and is a sun trap on balmy summer afternoons. It has patio furniture to seat 4 and has pretty plants and shrubs too. Cobblestone is a pretty sandstone cottage with a traditional pantile roof, nestled amongst similar luxury cottages in an exclusive area of North Sunderland. This cosy patio garden is fully enclosed, sunny and quite private.
There is private, off road parking for up to 2 cars, both to the side of the cottage.

2 bedrooms; the master bedroom has a king-size bed (5ft wide) and the second bedroom has twin single beds (3ft wide). The duvets and pillows provided are a mix of synthetic and feathered in each bedroom. There is no alternative available.
There is an en suite shower room to the master bedroom and a ground floor shower room. Both shower rooms have a walk-in shower, heated towel rail, WC and wash hand basin.
The south-facing patio garden is attractive with flowering shrubs and has furniture to seat 4 guests.

Tips from a local
Watch the sunset whilst enjoying a divine meal at St. Aidan’s Bistro. The bistro is right on the sea front in Seahouses and has huge windows overlooking the North Sea, and the sunsets in the summer are absolutely breathtaking.
You must book in advance at St. Aidan’s, as it’s only open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturday evenings and is popular with locals and tourists alike.
Tips from a local
Take a boat tour out to the Farne Islands with Billy Shiel’s boat trips. This is a must when you come to Northumberland, especially as you are so close to Seahouses. The tours leave from Seahouses harbour and sail all around the Farne Islands. Some stop at the islands where you can get off the boat and have a tour by one of the local rangers, and each boat tour differs depending on the season and what is nesting/breeding around the island. Billy Shiel’s tours are the largest operator in the town, still ran by all the members of the Shiel family who are the most knowledgeable about the area. Make sure you book in advance as they are incredibly popular, especially after being features on Robson Green’s Northumberland!
Tips from a local
Your nearest bar and restaurant is at The Longstone House Hotel, just minutes from Village Farm (just turn right out of the close). This gorgeous bar and restaurant is newly opened and the restaurant serves all fresh local produce including the catch from Seahouses harbour. The restaurant is small so booking in advance is definitely recommended. They are open on Thursday evenings, all day on Friday and Saturday and then for Sunday lunch.
The bar serves a wide range of beers and spirits and is open from 5pm till late on Monday – Thursday, then from Midday to late from Friday – Sunday and you can enjoy a drink in the sunny beer garden.
Tips from a local
Visit Bamburgh Castle! This historic landmark is right on the doorstep of Farne View and is an interesting place to visit. You can take a tour of the castle and the grounds and the views of the village beach from the castle walls are spectacular. Please click HERE for more details and how to book.
