Tips from a local
For a fun group day out, visit The Big Shoot – Clay Pigeon Shooting on Bywell Farm. They offer one-on-one tuition, couples and group sessions. Book in advance to avoid disappointment!
Tips from a local
Visit Warkworth Castle, in the centre of the medieval village just 2 miles away from the cottage. The impressive medieval ruin dates back to the 1100’s, and is now looked after by English Heritage. The history of the castle and village is fascinating, and with its spiral staircases, towers and lawned grounds to explore, the castle provides an excellent afternoon out for all the family.
Tips from a local
Head to Amble Fishing Town for a spot of lunch at Lilly’s Landing.
Just 3 1/2 miles from Grange House, Amble Harbour Village has a great atmosphere and offers some excellent eateries. Lilly’s Landing is a new addition to the town and has a great menu of local sea food, tasty flat breads and some gorgeous desserts to die for! The restaurant is also great for an evening drink overlooking the harbour.
Tips from a local
Go on a Puffin Cruise to Coquet Island, sailing from Amble dock. The island is home to over 40,000 nesting sea birds such as Puffins, Roseate Terns, Sandwich Terns, Arctic Terns, Kittiwakes and Eider Ducks which all nest in the summer months. A grey seal colony also stays at the island all year round and can be seen on the east side of the island. The waters around the island are really clear and sometimes you can see dolphins. Dave Grey’s boat trips are the best and have been operating for the longest.
Owner of Grange House
A Little Note from the Owner…
“We love to come here all the year round for the unspoilt beaches, dramatic skies and wonderful local friendliness. Whether we are snuggled up under blankets with a good book, in front of the fire after a blustery day of beach walking with our dogs or sitting out on the terrace, chatting with a crisp glass of wine in the sunshine, Grange House is our home away from home.
The peace and calm we experience here is like nowhere else on earth. We look forward to welcoming you to share our special place.”
