Tips from a local
Dine at Jasper’s Bistro, a small, romantic hidden gem just off the main street of Amble. Jasper’s specialises in seafood and steak dishes, and has been ranked competitively at number 1 out of 778 places to eat in Northumberland on Trip Advisor! The food is excellent, and the staff go above and beyond to ensure you enjoy your whole evening or lunch time meal. Just be sure to book to avoid disappointment.
Tips from a local
Go on a Puffin Cruise to Coquet Island, sailing from Amble dock. The island is home to over 40,000 nesting sea birds such as Puffins, Roseate Terns, Sandwich Terns, Arctic Terns, Kittiwakes and Eider Ducks which all nest in the summer months. A grey seal colony also stays at the island all year round and can be seen on the east side of the island. The waters around the island are really clear and sometimes you can see dolphins. Dave Grey’s boat trips are the best and have been operating for the longest.

Amble Harbour Market
Take a stroll around the local Sunday Market to see the town bustle in full flow. The traditional market is held around Amble Harbour every Sunday. Don’t miss out the little retail pods in the Harbour Village, where you’ll find local independent businesses, artists and food huts, with a breath-taking view across the harbour and up the Coquet Estuary with Warkworth Castle in the distance.

Dine around the corner
The Old Boathouse is jan award-winning seafood restaurant just around the corner from Hemingway’s and is not to be missed. They have a daily menu which changes depending on the catch from the harbour. Their bar is lovely just to enjoy a drink and the outside area has uninterrupted views of the marina and out to sea. Gorgeous in the summer.
Tips from a local
Have a stroll along to Warkworth
Take a walk from Amble, along the estuary to Warkworth medieval village, and continue on to The Mill Walk around the magnificent castle, along the river and back to Amble. With wildlife to spot along the way – in particular the herons often perched along the far side of the River Coquet and seals in the river – with great views of the castle from all angles, this walk is stunning all year round. If you’d like a halfway break to warm up be sure to stop by Bertram’s Bistro Cafe at the bottom of Warkworth main street.

A Word from the Owner…
What a place to have worked over the years, developing what was boatyard storage land into Coble Quay, a stunning waterfront Estate. We really are blessed to spend our working days here.
Every day we get to watch the tide roll in and out, while boats come and go, and birds fly free over the waters. It is forever changing and still to this day we’re mesmerised by its captivating beauty, it’s a wonder we’ve managed to get any work done! We’re lucky to call this paradise home, our second home. On days off we enjoy dog walks along the beach as well as hiking and mountain biking in the national parks. We love nothing more than sharing this wonderful place with our guests and hearing all about their adventures.
