Situated just 30 minutes easy walk from beautiful Druridge Bay with golden sandy beach and country park, Revilo Lookout is in a peaceful part of the little village of Red Row. The fishing town of Amble is just a few minutes drive north where you can explore their working harbour, fine at local fish restaurants and enjoy gorgeous ice cream and ‘proper’ Northern fish and chips.
Revilo Lookout is a luxury holiday home near the beach that sleeps 6 guests and welcomes 1 dog no bigger than a Labrador. It benefits from a south-facing large balcony terrace with uninterrupted views over the rolling fields and countryside. It has private parking and free Wi-Fi as standard.
Revilo Lookout near the beach sleeps up to 6 guests in 3 bedrooms; king size room, double room and a twin/super king room. The accommodation is primarily on the first floor but there is a ground floor shower room and utility room. The main bedroom has an en suite shower room.
Revilo Lookout has a spacious living area with the kitchen, dining space and lounge all open plan, looking out to the south-facing furnished balcony terrace.
This luxury holiday home welcomes 1 dog no bigger than a Labrador and has free Wi-Fi as standard.
The front door leads into a handy boot room/ utility room, with coat stand, shoe rack and ample space for storing luggage out of the way under the stairs. The utility room has a washing machine and separate dryer, sink and storage for all household necessities.
Ground floor Shower Room
The family shower room has a spacious walk-in shower with luxury rainfall shower head and extra attachment. There is a toilet, wash basin with illuminated mirror above, shaver point, heated towel rail and plenty of storage space for toiletries.
Open-plan living room, dining area and kitchen
The lounge area can comfortably seat up to 6 guests on the large 5-seater corner sofa, and 2 armchairs. There is a wall-mounted Smart TV with Netflix account provided.
The ceiling to floor patio doors lead out to the spacious balcony and where this luxury holiday home offers beautiful countryside views. There are binoculars provided for bird watching and a fantastic telescope for stargazing into the unpolluted night sky.
The marble-top dining table can comfortably seat up to 6 guests. The kitchen is very well equipped with an American-style fridge freezer with ice making machine, electric fan oven, electric hob, wine cooler, microwave, toaster, kettle and Nespresso machine.
Bedroom 1, with en-suite shower room
Leading off from the main living area, the 1st bedroom has the option of twin single beds (3 ft wide) or a super-king size bed (6ft wide) to be chosen upon booking. This room is spacious and has a Smart TV mounted to the wall with Netflix account provided for use and USB sockets for charging smart items. The Velux window allows natural light to flood the room and there is an adjoining door to bedroom 2 should you require it for children. Please note, this door cannot be locked due to building regulations stipulating it must be for an emergency exit in the event of a fire.
The en suite shower room is fully tiled and has a rainfall shower head with additional attachment, toilet, wash basin with illuminated mirror and shelf above and a heated towel rail. Complimentary toiletries provided.
Directly next door to Bedroom 1, this room has a tasteful country theme with sturdy pine wood furniture and decorated with soft, pastel colours. This room has a king size bed (5ft wide) and a Smart TV with Netflix account provided and USB ports in the sockets. The north-facing window looks out towards a pretty horse paddock and there is a Velux window above.
The adjoining door to Bedroom 1 allows emergency escape access through Bedroom 2 and can be a useful feature to connect the rooms should children be staying in the twin bedroom next door to their parents.
Up the stairs from the living area, there is an impressive, mezzanine gallery bedroom with a double (4ft 6″) size bed. The glass balustrade allows guests to appreciate the view from the gallery bedroom, as the room overlooks the whole living room, dining area and kitchen. There is an additional seating area for guests to enjoy a morning coffee up in the eaves and a Smart TV with Netflix account provided.
Please note, this room has a sloped ceiling meaning there is restricted head space in some areas. This galleried area has no entrance doorway due to the design, so small parts of the room will be visible to guests in the main living area should they look up. The stairs leading up to the gallery bedroom and narrower and steeper than average, so please take care in particular when descending back down. There is a hand rail fixed on either side of the stairs to aid guests.
Accessed from the main living area on the 1st floor, the spacious, paved balcony has a large dining table with seating for up to 6 guests and some comfortable sun lounger chairs provided. The balcony overlooks a pretty paddock – often with resident horses roaming – and the rolling fields beyond. A BBQ is provided on the balcony for guests to enjoy some alfresco cooking and dining in the summer months, and a second BBQ area (a brick BBQ shelf) can be found at ground level, accessed by exiting the house from the front door and following the building around to the left.
The large gravel driveway is shared with Revilo Manor next door. There is ample parking for up to 3 cars directly in front of the apartment.

There is a BBQ on the balcony and a brick BBQ platform on the patio behind the apartment building (accessed out the front door, turning left and following the side path).

1 well-behaved dog welcome at Revilo Lookout (no bigger than a Labrador) at a charge of £20 each, subject to our Booking Conditions. Dog sitting is available too.
Please note, the stairs up to the gallery bedroom on the 2nd floor are steep and narrow. Please take care when descending.
Kitchen, living and dining area, and the other 2 bedrooms are all on the first floor with no lift access, so this property may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility.
Off-road parking on the driveway for up to 3 cars, directly in front of the apartment.
Care of the Property
Our ‘Coquet’ cottages are much-loved privately-owned holiday homes into which our owners have lavished much care and investment to create beautiful places for their guests to enjoy. We therefore require a cautionary Good Housekeeping Deposit to protect our owners’ property, so that if damage/breakages occur or exceptional cleaning over and above the usual changeover clean is required up to the value of the deposit, the owner can be recompensed.
You have the option of paying either a £200 refundable Good Housekeeping Deposit or a smaller non-refundable £34 Deposit Waiver, which covers you to the value of £200. Please choose which option you prefer when booking. Click HERE for more information.
There is no dishwasher at Revilo Apartment and the galleried bedroom has no door, so other guests can wander upstairs willingly.
There is no bath at the property, only showers.

Map & Local Area
Situated in the peaceful village of Red Row, the luxury holiday home of Revilo Lookout is just 1 mile from the stunning woodlands and lakes at Druridge Bay Country Park. The golden sand beach is also just about 1 mile north-east, with parking available on the roadside by the dunes, or in the country park visitors car park.
Another 2 miles further north, you’ll find Amble Fishing Town. The coastline and harbour are very interesting in Amble as you can watch the fishing boats come and go. The little shore is at the southern end of Amble with a little beach before you reach the promenade and the pier. The views of Coquet Island from the pier are beautiful, and a stop-off at The Fish Shack right on the harbour front for a drink or light bite is a must.
1 mile north of Amble, you will find the village of Warkworth with its impressive medieval castle towering above the main street. In Warkworth you’ll find a great selection of village pubs (no less than 4 to choose from!) and a 5-mile golden sandy beach accessible from the north end of the village.
Red Row is an excellent place to be based to enjoy the stunning, peaceful countryside, excellent choice of eateries in the neighbouring towns and villages, and the beautiful coastal landscape on your doorstep, as well as visiting a host of other popular places in Northumberland such as Rothbury country village and the nearby Simonside Hills and Ingram Valley, the traditional coastal villages of Embleton, Craster and Bamburgh, to the central market town of Alnwick. Everywhere in Northumberland is easy to reach from this gorgeous retreat.

Tips from a local
Visit The Gingerbread Cafe!
Just a short walk along the road from Revilo Lookout, The Gingerbread Cafe has a reputation for some of the best cakes in the area. Treat yourself to a slice of chocolate fudge cake, lemon and blueberry cake or bounty cheesecake with a hot coffee after a stroll along Druridge Bay beach. There are also a range of sandwiches, scones and tray bakes available, and anything on the menu can be packed as a take away option to enjoy back at the apartment.

Take a peaceful, evening stroll around Druridge Bay Country Park, and watch the sunset over the lake.
Just a couple of minutes’ drive North from Red Row, the beautiful country park is a hit with holiday makers and tourists alike. The walk around the lake takes about 50 minutes with a few different path options, fun stepping stones and pretty, hidden bridges. You can also cut through to Druridge Bay Beach to extend your walk over the vast sands and grassy dunes.
There is ample parking near the lake, and gates close at dusk so please take note of what time you need to leave as you enter the park, as this varies throughout the year.
Tips from a local
Revilo Lookout is great for wildlife watching, with Kestrels, owls, deer and foxes regularly spotted in the fields from the living area and balcony. Why not add to your sightings list by booking onto the Puffin Cruise boat trip! Departing from Amble Harbour, the tour takes you around Coquet Island where you can see seals sunbathing on the rocks, puffins setting up camp for their nesting season, and if you’re lucky, dolphins playing in the water around the boat.
The boat trips are very popular in the summer season, so booking is recommended to avoid disappointment.
