WOW, where do I start. I booked the whole of Roses Bower for 3 nights (made up of three properties, Drum Barn, The Hayloft and The Woodworker’s Cottage) for 15 of us to share to attend my Nephew’s wedding at Capheaton Hall at the beginning of September. All three properties are outstanding and the grounds they stand in superb for our Labrador who enjoyed exploring the woods attached to the property. They are very well equipped properties and the welcome pack must be one of the best we have ever been given including dog biscuits! Added bonus of having hot tubs waiting for us ready to use after a night of dancing!Escape the ordinary read our guest book
Owner of Roses Bower
A Word from the Owner…
The first time I saw Rose’s Bower was on a baking hot summer’s day, at the end of a very long drive from London. We got out of the car and the world changed. The sense of space and peace was tangible. The views knocked me out (they still do, each and every day). I knew right away that I had to move here.
That was twenty years ago and since then it has been a daily privilege to live at Roses Bower. Although we are only half a mile from the nearest main road, when you arrive you feel in a different world. There is space to think, to exercise, to relax, to kick back. Ever day, the countryside changes, there are new smells, new flowers in bud, news birds to spot. Those twenty years have been filled with constant improvements – adding a new water supply, a biomass boiler, insulating to a high standard so we are ever more green, transforming the wood from a tangled mess of nettles to a verdant haven, carpeted with spring flowers, building a treehouse and yoga barn, constantly upgrading the cottages.
It has been a joy to share this special place with cottage guests for four years now, and to see the same look on their faces when they get out of their own cars for the first time. Roses Bower is a special place. You’ll see.
