Sea Gem is the perfect seaside retreat for families and friends alike, looking to relax in a comfortable and luxurious setting, yet with the restaurants and views of Amble harbour and the coastline just a splash away.
This stylish retreat sleeps up to six guests in three bedrooms with three bathrooms. In addition to the spacious, open-plan living space, Sea Gem has a snug room with a drinks trolley; plenty of games and a west-facing balcony to capture those beautiful sunsets perfectly.

Important Note – Current Building Works on Site
Sea Gem is part of a development of gorgeous beach-style houses, however the site isn’t finished just yet. Whilst Sea Gem is one of the houses closest to the edge of the site, it is nontheless evident that works are still occurring around the development.
On evenings and weekends this shouldn’t interrupt your holiday, works are occurring on the site during the daytime in the working week, therefore you are likely to hear vehicles and deliveries arriving and potential works being carried out at the unfinished properties on the site during this time, which could carry with it some noise disturbance. The site once fully complete will be a very peaceful and quiet development.
For this reason, the owners are offering a reduction of up to 20% on all rental rates until the end of 2020, which is when the works are forecast to be almost complete. If you place your booking and accept this discount, it is on the basis that you accept there may be some disturbance during the main part of the day. No complaints will therefore be entertained in relation to the neighbouring building works.
Sea Gem is a spacious seaside retreat with the living space upstairs. Its open plan design and additional snug means it’s perfect for a family or friends to holiday together, suiting different dynamics. Sea Gem sleeps up to six guests in three bedrooms, two of which have en suite shower rooms and there’s an additional family bathroom to serve the twin bedroom.
The lounge, kitchen and dining room are all open plan, and with so many windows the living space is light and airy, with the option to spill out to either the east or west-facing balconies.
Sea Gem has a private driveway to park up to 4 cars and an enclosed lawned garden. We regret dogs are not permitted here. There is free Wi-Fi as standard and please see the Facts and Features panel for more details on the facilities of Sea Gem.
Sea Gem has all bedrooms on the ground floor and the living space is upstairs to make the most of its bright and airy position. Entry is directly into the hallway where you’ll find a WC and cloakroom for the storage of coats and shoes.
Master Bedroom with en suite
This lovely bedroom is tastefully decorated and has access directly out to the garden via glass patio doors. King size bed (5ft wide), wardrobe, drawers with luxury linen provided.
The en-suite shower room provides a large walk-in shower with rainfall shower head and additional attachment; WC; wash hand basin; plenty of bathroom storage and a heated towel rail. Towels and complimentary toiletries are provided.
Bedroom Two with En-suite Shower Room
The second bedroom is equally as lovely with a kingsize bed (5ft wide), large east-facing window, wardrobe and drawers. Luxury linen is provided.
The en-suite shower room contains a large walk-in shower with rainfall shower head and additional attachment; WC; wash hand basin; plenty of bathroom storage and a heated towel rail. Towels and complimentary toiletries are provided.
Bedroom Three with Family Bathroom
This large bedroom has twin single beds (each 3ft wide) with a west-facing window, wardrobe and chest of drawers. Luxury bed linen is provided. The family bathroom on the first floor is for use by guests using this bedroom, with towels and complimentary toiletries provided.
A feature oak and glass staircase leads up to an impressive open-plan living space on the first floor of the property. The family bathroom, utility room and snug are also on the first floor.
Beautifully decorated and looking out onto the glass, east-facing balcony, the lounge has two velvet Chesterfield sofas seating 6 guests in total, which are deep enough so your feet won’t touch the ground! There is a Smart TV with full access to Netflix and glass doors lead out to the balcony.
Leading from the lounge this lovely balcony is perfect for capturing the morning sun. There’s a bistro table with 2 chairs for enjoying breakfast or just a cup of coffee in the sunshine.
Open plan, the kitchen is modern and well-stocked. There’s a fridge/freezer; electric fan oven with induction hob; dishwasher; 4-slice toaster; kettle; microwave; Dolce Gusto coffee machine with an initial supply of pods; blender and vegetable steamer.
The dining table seats six guests on four chairs and a bench seat for two, beneath a lovely large east-facing window.
Snug and West-Facing Balcony
The snug is a lovely room and a perfect addition to Sea Gem, ideal for those looking for peace and quiet or to catch up on their favourite box set on Netflix. With the west-facing balcony accessible through the glass doors, you can enjoy beautiful sunsets on the two rocking chairs and make use of the basket of fluffy blankets to use when the evenings get chilly. In the snug there’s also a corner sofa seating up to four; a large Smart TV with full access to Netflix and a drinks trolley with a cocktail kit (no drinks provided).
This large bathroom is to be used by guests staying in the twin bedroom and contains a bath with rainfall shower head over, WC, sink and heated towel rail. Towels and complimentary toiletries are provided.
A very useful room with cupboards and plenty of surface storage, you’ll also find a wine cooler for additional drinks to save room in the kitchen fridge. there’s a washing machine; sink and a traditional ‘pully maid’ for drying clothes.
There’s a small garden to the front and a larger garden to the rear, accessible through the side gate from the driveway and also directly from the master bedroom. The garden is lawned and enclosed with a furnished patio.
Sea Gem has a private driveway that can accommodate four cars.

Both king size rooms on the ground floor have en-suite shower rooms. There is a WC/cloakroom at the entrance hallway on the ground floor and a family bathroom on the first floor. Each en-suite shower room has a large walk-in shower, WC, wash basin and heated towel rail. The family bathroom contains a shower over the bath, WC, wash basin and heated towel rail. Towels and complimentary toiletries are provided.
Garden & Balconies
The enclosed garden is lawned and the patio is furnished with a table and chairs. The east-facing balcony from the lounge has seating for 2. The west-facing balcony from the snug has seating for 2.
There is no BBQ provided at Sea Gem but you would be welcome to bring your own, however please take care to site it on the paved area of the ground only.
Please be aware
Dogs are strictly not permitted at Sea Gem.
A stair gate is not possible at the top or bottom of the stairs at Sea Gem due to the contemporary design of the stair case.

Care of the Property
Our ‘Coquet’ cottages are much-loved privately-owned holiday homes into which our owners have lavished much care and investment to create beautiful places for their guests to enjoy. A cautionary Good Housekeeping Deposit is required to protect our owners’ property, so that if damage/breakages occur or exceptional cleaning over and above the usual changeover clean is required up to the value of the deposit, the owner can be recompensed.
You have the option of paying either a £200 refundable Good Housekeeping Deposit, or a smaller non-refundable £34 Deposit Waiver which covers you to the value of £200. Please choose which option you prefer when booking. Click HERE for more information.

Map & Local Area
Sea Gem is nestled in the Anchorage Place development in a quiet, leafy residential area of Amble. Only 10 minutes easy walk to the Amble marina, Sea Gem is in a very pleasant spot for enjoying the best of this thriving fishing town yet in a peaceful location away from any tourist areas. Everything in Amble can be reached easily on foot from Sea Gem, such as the harbour, main street and the great restaurants on the quayside.
The coastline and harbour are very interesting in Amble as you can watch the fishing boats come and go. The little shore is at the southern end of Amble with a little beach before you reach the promenade and the pier. The views of Coquet Island from the pier are beautiful. A mile south is Hauxley Nature Reserve which has a whole host of different wildlife to spot all year round.
One mile north you will find the medieval village of Warkworth with its impressive castle at the top of the village. Warkworth is very easy to reach on foot, following the walk along the Coquet estuary from the harbour until you reach the castle. In Warkworth you’ll find a great selection of village pubs (no less than 4 to choose from!) and a 5-mile golden sandy beach accessible from the north end of the village.
Amble is an excellent place to be based to enjoy a great range of restaurants and cafes, and its wonderful to have the beautiful coastal landscape on your doorstep. It’s very easy to reach from Amble a host of other popular places in Northumberland such as Rothbury country village and the nearby Simonside Hills and Ingram Valley, the traditional coastal villages of Embleton, Craster and Bamburgh, to the central market town of Alnwick with the world-class Alnwick Garden and Castle to experience. Everywhere in Northumberland is easy to reach from Sea Gem in Amble.
