A Coastal Retreat Made to Impress
The Beaches is aptly named with being situated on the headland in the popular coastal town of Amble. With stunning sea views, primarily focusing on Coquet Island, this beautiful property with gorgeous decor has been beautifully built to provide an extraordinary escape right on the sea-front.
The Beaches sleeps up to 6 guests in 3 bedrooms, has private parking, outside seating space and is pet-free. This gorgeous holiday home in Amble has a unique feature of a ‘star-gazing room’; on the first floor, a round room has been created with an entirely glass roof, perfect for clear, starry night skies.
The harbour front of Amble with its great selection of shops and restaurants can be reached easily in around 15 minutes on foot, and there are walks straight from your doorstep. The headland surrounding the property is stunning, Free Wi-Fi throughout.
The Beaches sleeps 6 guests in 3 bedrooms; 1 bedroom with twin beds that can be converted into a super king bed with an en suite; 1 bedroom with a double size bed and en suite; and 1 bedroom with a round bed in the ’round room’, (which is 6ft 6″ in diameter) with a WC and wash basin.
The property has all bedrooms on the ground floor to make the most of the beautiful views. The living space is open plan and has gorgeous, uninterrupted views along the headland and down to the beach and out to sea. The most impressive feature of this property is the ‘star gazing room’, which is a round turret-like room with an entirely glass ceiling. Perfect for star-gazing on a clear night – especially in the winter.
The Beaches has free Wi-Fi throughout. We regret no pets are permitted.
Enter into the pleasant porch which has a storage cupboard with coat hooks and a safe provided for guest use. The hallway has a handy and stylish console table with welcoming lamp lighting and a mirror. Additional storage can be found under the stairs which contains a vacuum cleaner, ironing board and iron.
Bedroom 1 – Double bedroom with en-suite
This bedroom contains a double-size bed (4ft 6″ wide), stylish single wardrobe and drawer bedside tables. There is a wall-mounted Smart TV with Netflix account provided. The large south-facing patio doors lead out from the bedroom on to a gravelled patio area, with rattan lounge furniture for up to 6 guests.
The en suite contains a walk-in shower, wash hand basin, WC, heated towel rail and illuminated mirror integrated within the storage cabinet. Fluffy towels and complimentary toiletries are provided.
Bedroom 2 – Circular family bedroom with private WC and wash basin
This beautifully designed bedroom contains a ’round’ bed, 6ft x 6ft in diameter at the largest point, with super king-size bedding provided. There is an en-suite toilet and wash basin area, with an illuminated mirror and ample storage. Please note, the WC area is separated from the bedroom by a partition wall, but there is no door between the sleeping area and en-suite.
Guests in bedroom 2 have their own WC and wash basin but share a shower with guests in either bedroom 1 or bedroom 3 by accessing the en-suite through the other bedroom, making this property ideal for family use.
Bedroom 3 – twin single/super king bedroom with en suite
This bedroom as default is made up with twin single beds, but these can be converted to a super king size bed (6ft wide) upon request on the booking form. If not requested, this bedroom will be set with 2 x 3ft single beds.
This bedroom has south/south-west facing windows, allowing plenty of natural light to flood in, yet blackout blinds are provided at each window. The room is spacious with a quirky curved outer wall and contains a wardrobe, chest of drawers and dressing table area. Luxury linens are provided.
The en suite contains a walk-in shower with rainfall shower head and additional attachment, wash hand basin, WC, heated towel rail and illuminated mirrored storage cabinet. Fluffy towels and complimentary toiletries are provided.
Open Plan Kitchen, Dining Area and Lounge
The lounge has seating for up to 6 guests; 4-seater sofa, snuggle chair for up to 2, and a pouffe positioned around the TV area, with an additional sofa facing the large windows to take in the stunning view of Whitehouse Sands beach. Large wall-mounted Smart TV with full access to Netflix. The south-facing patio doors offer gorgeous coastal views, and open out on to a balcony, with rattan garden furniture provided.
Kitchen/ Dining Area
The beautiful kitchen with granite work tops looks out to sea and contains all of the usual appliances. Integrated fridge/freezer, electric fan oven, induction 4-ring hob, microwave oven, integrated washer/dryer, kettle, toaster and Smeg filter coffee machine.
The sleek and stylish dining table seats up to 6 and has uninterrupted views over the beach and out to sea.
The Stargazing Room
This stunning, circular feature room is one of the main focal points of the property. With a round, glass ceiling, the room is perfect for relaxing and staring up at the unpolluted night sky. The room contains a sofa bed, side table and an LED colour lighting feature around the edge of the glass roof. There is also a Smart TV provided, ideal when the room is used as a snug/second lounge room.
Outside Area & Parking
The Beaches has a balcony leading from the lounge and an outside gravel space with seating for up to 6 guests. Parking is right next to the front door and there is ample parking on the driveway for up to 2 cars, additional cars can park on the headland further down the driveway.

Outside & Parking
There is a lovely outside gravelled area with seating for 6 at The Beaches, as well as the fabulous balcony. There is parking for up to 2 cars right outside, with further cars able to be parked on Links Road for no charge, a short 2 minute walk away.
There is no BBQ provided at The Beaches. You are welcome to bring your own to use responsibly at the property or nearby on the beach or headland.

An traditional Welcome Hamper is provided, which includes some lovely basics including locally-baked bread, butter, milk, tea, coffee and wine. Complimentary toiletries are included. A property and local area guide tells you all you need to know to make the most of your stay. Free Wi-Fi for cosy nights in.

The bedrooms are on the ground level and living space upstairs. All showers are level access and ‘walk-in’. This property is not suitable for those with limited mobility due to the only living space being on the first floor.
There is parking for two cars outside The Beaches. Additional free parking can be found on Links Road, around 2 minutes walk away.
Care of the Property
Our ‘Coquet’ cottages are much-loved privately-owned holiday homes into which our owners have lavished much care and investment to create beautiful places for their guests to enjoy. We therefore require a cautionary Good Housekeeping Deposit to protect our owners’ property, so that if damage/breakages occur or exceptional cleaning over and above the usual changeover clean is required up to the value of the deposit, the owner can be recompensed.
You have the option of paying either a £250 refundable Good Housekeeping Deposit or a smaller non-refundable £46 Deposit Waiver, which covers you to the value of £250. Please choose which option you prefer when booking. Click HERE for more information.

Map & Local Area
The Beaches is located on the headland at the most southern point of the Amble coastline, quite literally a stone’s throw away from the sea. This stunning, newly built home in Amble is only 10 minutes easy walk to the Amble marina but seconds away from the footpath on the headline. The Beaches is in a perfect spot for enjoying the best of this thriving fishing town without having to get in the car. Everything in Amble can be reached easily on foot from The Beaches, such as the harbour, main street and the great restaurants on the quayside. The Beaches is perfect for a stylish coastal break with breathtaking views.
The coastline and harbour are very interesting in Amble as you can watch the fishing boats come and go. The little shore is at the southern end of Amble with a little beach before you reach the promenade and the pier. The views of Coquet Island from the pier are beautiful, as they are from the house too! A mile south is Hauxley Nature Reserve which has a whole host of different wildlife coming to life all year round which you can easily walk to.
Just over a mile north you will find the medieval village of Warkworth with its impressive castle at the top of the village. Warkworth is very easy to reach on foot, following the walk along the Coquet estuary from the harbour until you reach the castle. In Warkworth you’ll find a great selection of village pubs (no less than 4 to choose from!) and a 5-mile golden sandy beach accessible from the north end of the village.
Amble is an excellent place to be based to enjoy the excellent choice of eateries and the beautiful coastal landscape on your doorstep, as well as visiting a host of other popular places in Northumberland such as Rothbury country village and the nearby Simonside Hills and Ingram Valley, the traditional coastal villages of Embleton, Craster and Bamburgh, to the central market town of Alnwick. Everywhere in Northumberland is easy to reach from this gorgeous coastal retreat in Amble.

Tips from a local
Make sure you pay a visit to Druridge Bay Country Park which you can easily reach by car in 5 minutes or on foot which will take a bit longer.
Not only is it a pretty country park with a 100 acre lake fringed with woodland and meadows, it also has a huge 7 mile stretch of golden sandy beach and has several nature reserves tucked behind it’s dunes.
Druridge Bay is a hub of activity, hosting the national Park Run every Saturday, the annual VW Campervan Festival and the lake is home to many watersports activities all year round. If watersports is your thing, visit Northside Surf School, based in Amble.
Tips from a local
Pick up some fresh bread and other deli goodies from either La Famiglia or The Amble Butcher on the high street, pack a picnic and head down towards the Braid. They have picnic benches there you’re on the coast, so you can see the boats going in and out of the marina.
You’re so close to the cottage and the main street that if you forget something or want more scrumptious treats, you’re almost just around the corner!
Tips from a local
Dine at The Old Boathouse. One of the best eating places in Amble. Customers drive for miles to visit this rustic fish restaurant to experience their fresh fish and seafood, as well as the other tasty dishes on their menu. With a huge specials board that changes almost daily depending on what the fishing boats bring into the harbour, this bustling restaurant with a stunning harbour frontage is a must to sample the catches of Northumberland. Booking is essential even during the week, at all times of the year.
Tips from a local
Go on a Puffin Cruise to Coquet Island, sailing from Amble dock. The island is home to over 40,000 nesting sea birds such as Puffins, Roseate Terns, Sandwich Terns, Arctic Terns, Kittiwakes and Eider Ducks which all nest in the summer months. A grey seal colony also stays at the island all year round and can be seen on the east side of the island. The waters around the island are really clear and sometimes you can see dolphins. Dave Grey’s boat trips are the best and have been operating for the longest.
