Beadnell is well-known for it’s watersports and enthusiasts, with many brave people jumping off the Beadnell pier in their wet suits at all times of the year!
In Beadnell you have 2 pubs; The Craster Arms and Beadnell Towers, with the former being the livelier of the 2. Both serve great food in a warm and cosy setting. Absolutely fantastic stay, The Drift House is stunning. It was so comfortable and stylish. The fresh home made scones, butter and the fresh flowers were also a nice surprise in our welcome basket.
Sample the delicious, fresh local seafood at the stylish Salt Water Cafe.
Located centrally in Beadnell, opposite the village church, Salt Water Cafe offers a stunning menu and uses Seafood from Beadnell Bay itself, and nearby Seahouses Harbour. They serve food all day from 8.30am and on into the evening, and also offer a fantastic afternoon tea, with the added luxury of prosecco and cocktails on offer too!
Tips from a local
Did you know Beadnell has the only West-facing harbour on the East Coast?
This rare spot on the Northumberland Coastline means you can enjoy the sunset from the harbour, looking back over the land. What a stunning way to end an evening stroll along Beadnell Bay sands.
Lindisfarne Castle is looked after by National Trust, and The Lindisfarne Priory belongs to English Heritage, so remember to bring your cards with you if you are Membership Holders.
The Lindisfarne Brewery and gift shop is lovely where you’ll find tasty goodies to bring home with you for friends and family – and for yourself!
Please be extra careful and check the tide times for the causeway, and don’t underestimate how fast the tide comes in! It’s a regular occurrence for people to be stranded and have to be rescued by the Coastguard because they ignored the tide timetable and thought they could get through when the tide was coming in – cars flooded with seawater are completely written off!
