Explore Chillingham Castle and Walled Garden. The impressively preserved 12th Century castle is full of history, and the friendly room guides make your visit extra special with tales to tell about every room if you wish them to. The castle has a pretty grizzly past, so if you’re feeling brave enough, why not try one of the night time ghost tours to experience the castle and grounds after dark!

The Supper Club at The Old Dairy
Take a trip to the historic villages on the Ford and Etal estate. In Ford, you will find The Old Dairy, a quirky antique shop and cafe by day and interesting supper club by night – or should we say once a month. This gorgeous place hosts a supper club once a month during the week where a well-known chef cooks there for 1 night only. Often from Newcastle, the chef will prepare a 6 course meal for their diners to enjoy. It’s certainly an interesting night and one we would highly recommend. It’s difficult to get booked in, so if you can’t make it on an evening we would still say it’s worth going during the day. Top tip – try their homemade cheese scones baked in the AGA – heaven!
