Map & Local Area
The picturesque village of Bamburgh is within walking distance of The New Dairy and has a range of great pubs, restaurants, shops, the renowned Grace Darling Museum, Bamburgh Castle and Bamburgh beach. You can also walk to Budle Bay along Bamburgh beach too, which has an abundance of wildlife to observe at all times of the year.
It will take approx. 20-22 mins to walk into Bamburgh village along the footpaths, but these aren’t lit so it’s not recommended in the winter with dark nights unless you have torch. The footpath is between the fields, rather than along the road. Otherwise, it’s no more than 3-4 minutes in the car.
Seahouses is another great vibrant little town which is another 5 mins’ drive south from Bamburgh. Whilst there’s an element of kiss-me-quick seaside charm, there’s some great little gift shops and of course, the famous boat trips that visit the Farne Islands that leave from the harbour.

The cottage was beautiful and the location was fantastic. Would stay again without a doubt! It was beautifully furnished but with lots of home comforts including children’s toys and books (which my little girl enjoyed!) and toiletries, cleaning products and a fab welcome hamper. We had a lovely relaxing holiday. The scones were yummy as was the bread and it was really thoughtful to have fresh milk and butter in the fridge! Location, comfort, cleanliness and home touches but really felt like a lovely relaxing place!Escape the ordinary read our guest book

Tips from a local
On a Sunday afternoon, grab a slice of cake or a refreshing ice-cream to go from Wyndenwell in Bamburgh village and take an easy walk down to the cricket grounds. Pick a seat on one of the many wooden benches placed around the grounds and watch a game of cricket with the impressive backdrop of Bamburgh Castle! If you’re visiting Bamburgh during the Summer cricket season, then it may even be possible for you to play for the Bamburgh cricket team!
Owner of The New Dairy
A Word from the Owner…
We fell in love with Bamburgh over a decade ago. At the time, we were looking for romantic escapes that were big enough to accommodate a couple with a new born comfortably. Luxury and fine finishes were important to us and so, when we found The New Dairy, with its magnificent views over Bamburgh Castle, we fell in love with Bamburgh all over again. We have spent our holidays building memories around the North East with beaches and skies that rival anywhere in the world. Long walks, fresh air, beautiful food, glistening night skies and pure tranquillity make The New Dairy a perfect place to recharge and re-energise. We hope you love it as much as we do.
