The Penthouse is most certainly the cream of the crop when it comes to a coastal escape. With paramount views of the Amble Marina, the Coquet estuary leading to Warkworth Castle and sea views over to Coquet Island, no matter what the weather this is the perfect haven to relax and unwind with the North East coast on you doorstep.

The Penthouse is a luxury waterfront holiday home in the heart of Amble with two private balconies and breathtaking views from every window. The duplex apartment has a large open plan living area, games room and four bedrooms all with en suites sleeping up to eight guests.

There are two private parking spaces and additional visitor parking close by. Access to The Penthouse is level and you can use the elevator or the stairs to reach the top floor. The twin bedroom is on the ground level of the apartment which is perfect for those with restricted mobility.

The Penthouse is a duplex apartment so space is no compromise, with the impressive open plan living area, four en suite bedrooms and games room.

The bedrooms consists of two super king rooms, one king room and one twin room with single beds. Every bedroom has a Smart TV and the games room has a large Smart TV with a PS4. There is unlimited Wi-Fi throughout as well as full access to Netflix and Spotify.

The Penthouse suits many types from multi-generations to groups of friends. Outside there is a secure under-croft store unit and designated parking spaces for two cars, with additional visitor parking very close by.


Access to the apartment building is level, with lift access to The Penthouse on the top floor if required. As you enter the apartment you are greeted by a vast hallway with a beautiful oak staircase and an oak bench seat. There is plenty of space to hang coats and store shoes, with additional storage in the adjoining WC.


Enter through the glass door into the impressive lounge and the view through the floor to ceiling windows will take your breath away. With undisturbed views of the Amble Marina, the Coquet Estuary and Warkworth Castle and the Warkworth beach dunes, the eastern coast to the north, Coquet Island and out to sea, the view alone will capture you for hours as you watch the tide come in and leave.

The lounge has a grand 4-seater sofa, a love chair for two, armchair and large stool all surrounding the cosy electric flame-effect fire, below a huge wall-mounted Smart TV with full access to Netflix. There is a selection of reading books and access to Spotify through the Sonos speakers in the ceiling throughout the living area and Master Suite.

Dining Space

A beautiful driftwood table is positioned centrally within the open plan room, which comfortably seats eight guests and is lit by two pendant lights. The surrounding views can be enjoyed from the dining table.


The kitchen has a large island with a breakfast bar seating three guests, plenty of storage space and views above the kitchen counter overlooking Amble Lifeboat Station and southwards towards Coquet Island and the pier.  The fully equipped kitchen has integrated appliances consisting of an electric fan oven, microwave, fridge freezer, induction hob, cooker hood, dishwasher, toaster, cafetiere and a boiling hot water tap so no need to use a kettle.

Balcony/Lookout Point

The best seats in the house are the two Stressless recliner chairs with footstools, perfectly positioned in front of the balcony door to enjoy the uninterrupted views. Step out onto to the balcony where there is further seating available for two, whilst enjoying a chilled or a hot coffee early morning, watching the sun rise in the east.

Games Room

The games room has a 3 seater sofa, 2 large gaming bean bags, a huge wall-mounted Smart TV, PS4 with a selection of PS4 games, two wireless controllers and views out to the Amble boatyard.


Twin Bedroom with en suite (Bedroom Four)

This bedroom is on the lower floor of The Penthouse and has two full-size single beds, fitted wardrobes with a dressing table and large mirror, wall-mounted Smart TV, luxury linens and views of the Amble boatyard.

The en suite has a shower over the bath, WC, wash basin, heated towel rail and a large mirror with feature lighting. Complimentary toiletries and fluffy towels provided.

Utility Room

This useful room contains a washing machine, tumble dryer, sink and lots of surface space, as well as the iron, ironing board and clothes airer.


Ground Floor WC

A huge room accessed from the main hallway, consisting of a WC, wash basin, mirror with feature lighting and additional coat hooks.

First Floor

Master Bedroom with en suite and Inset Balcony

The master suite is as spacious as a studio apartment with a super king size bed, luxury linens and a private lit balcony with seating for two. This bedroom has a separate picture window with sea views overlooking Warkworth beach from the comfort of your bed. There is a three-seater sofa with wall-mounted Smart TV and electric flame-effect fire, Sonos sound system with Spotify built into the ceiling as well as a ‘drinks’ cabinet (no drinks supplied) filled with fine glassware and cocktail kits.

The dressing room has plenty of wardrobe and drawer space including a full-length mirror. The en suite has a huge walk-in shower, wash basin, heated towel rail, WC and wall-size mirror with feature lighting. Complimentary toiletries and fluffy towels provided.

Bedroom Two with en suite

This spacious room has views out the Amble harbour and out to Coquet Island. There is a super king size bed (6ft wide) with luxury linens, wall-mounted Smart TV and love seat sofa for two. The walk-through dressing room has ample storage with a huge dressing table leading to the en suite.

The en suite contains a large walk-in shower, heated towel rail, WC and wash basin and a picture window with views out to sea. Complimentary toiletries and fluffy towels provided.

Bedroom Three with en suite

This lovely room has a king size bed (5ft wide) with luxury linens, wall-mounted Smart TV and his and hers walk-in wardrobes. The bright window looks out to Amble town with sea views over to Coquet Island.

The en suite has a large, walk-in shower, wash basin, WC and heated towel rail. Complimentary toiletries and fluffy towels provided.

All bedrooms have en suites. Please see the detail on each bedroom description for details of the en suites. There is also a downstairs cloakroom with wash basin and WC. All bathrooms have complimentary toiletries and fluffy towels.

Accommodation is split across two floors. However, access into the apartment building is level, there is an elevator up to the top floor and level access into the hallway of the apartment. The twin bedroom is on the ground floor of the apartment, with an en suite. The en suite has a bath with shower over.

There is private, designated parking for 2 cars. Additional parking in the visitor bays are very close by.

Care of the Property
Our ‘Coquet’ cottages are much-loved privately-owned holiday homes into which our owners have lavished much care and investment to create beautiful places for their guests to enjoy. We therefore require a cautionary Good Housekeeping Deposit to protect our owners’ property, so that if damage/breakages occur or exceptional cleaning over and above the usual changeover clean is required up to the value of the deposit, the owner can be recompensed.

The balcony from the lounge has seating for two and breathtaking views. The balcony from the master bedroom also has seating for two.

There is no BBQ provided at The Penthouse and due to it’s location and position it would not be appropriate to use a BBQ on the balcony. Why not take a disposable BBQ to the beach instead?

The Penthouse is perfectly positioned to capture the stunning Amble coastline, marina, North Sea and the estuary from all of the huge windows in the apartment and the wall-to-wall glazed doors. From the door of the apartment main entrance, you can take a stroll along the promenade to the harbour front, where you will find a great market on a Sunday and also The Fish Shack, a daytime bistro. Further on you can find Spurelli’s ice cream parlour, The Old Boathouse bistro and the Harbour Village; a cluster of small gift shops. Radcliffe’s bar and restaurant is just around the corner from The Penthouse and serves breakfasts and evening meals. Their gin selection is very popular!

The rock pools are great to explore which are next to the beach along from the harbour, as is the little bay and the pier going right out to the lighthouse where you have beautiful views of Coquet Island.  The whole of the Northumberland heritage coastline is easy to discover from Amble, with its necklace of pretty coastal villages threaded up the coastline to Holy Island and Budle Bay.

Our family stayed at the Penthouse for a week to celebrate my 60th birthday. The owners very kindly gave me a birthday card and cake which was very thoughtful. The accommodation was fabulous and I could not find fault with anything. It was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and top notch furniture and fittings. The kitchen had everything we could ever have needed for in house catering and the views from the apartment were breathtaking. Fantastic apartment that I hope to visit again if I am lucky

Right on your doorstep, begin your day with a Radcliffe’s breakfast!

The avocado smash flatbread, with bacon and poached egg is to die for. If you have a sweet tooth, the pancakes are also highly recommended!

Radcliffe’s is just next door to the Coble Quay Apartments, and offers delicious, freshly made food with top quality ingredients. They have an excellent range of beers, ales and gins, and there’s a great evening atmosphere too.

These pretty little huts are ran by small local businesses. From arts and crafts, to delicious gins and cheeses, you’ll find some real hidden gems along here.

Leading along to the harbour front, be sure not to bypass them during your stay.

Book an evening meal at Jasper’s Bistro!

This pretty little restaurant is very small and offers a relaxed, intimate dining experience. The food is absolutely exquisite. The chef specialises in seafood and steak dishes, and the care and attention to detail is apparent on every plate.

Booking is definitely advised to avoid disappointment, especially for larger parties.

Tips from a local

Go on a Puffin Cruise to Coquet Island, sailing from Amble dock. The island is home to over 40,000 nesting sea birds such as Puffins, Roseate Terns, Sandwich Terns, Arctic Terns, Kittiwakes and Eider Ducks which all nest in the summer months. A grey seal colony also stays at the island all year round and can be seen on the east side of the island. The waters around the island are really clear and sometimes you can see dolphins. Dave Grey’s boat trips are the best and have been operating for the longest.

Go surfing! There is a great, little surf community in Amble, with Northside Surf School offering private and group lessons all year round. Jon is a qualified surf instructor and lifeguard, and is great fun for a family day out. Whether you’re looking for a bit of a laugh in a group session, or to improve your skills in a one-to-one lesson, Jon is highly recommended, and can even take you to the ‘private beach’ on the other side of the harbour! All equipment and wet suits are provided – so what are you waiting for?!
