Tower View is a gorgeous apartment located within the newly-refurbished Malthouse buildings right in the very heart of the medieval town of Alnwick. Formerly a local brewery that became dilapidated, the building has been renovated to comprise of 37 luxury apartments that mix new contemporary design with original listed features. Tower View is just a stones throw away from Alnwick Castle, the grounds of Hulne Park and just yards from the main street of Alnwick. You are spoilt for choice of great places to eat, drink and visit in the town of Alnwick, not forgetting the Farmer’s Market which is hosted in the town square twice a week!

Comfortably sleeping 4 adults, this beautifully presented apartment was recently awarded 5 Stars by Visit England, boasts two king size bedrooms and two bathrooms it is modern, light and airy, with luxury touches all around and a wonderful view of Pottergate Tower. With lift access, off road parking, which is located in a private covered garage, it is the ideal location for exploring Alnwick and surrounding areas.

Overview

One of our largest apartments in the Maltings, Tower View apartment sleeps 4 guests in 2 king size bedrooms, this makes it the perfect apartment for couples holidaying on their own or 2 couples holidaying together, with more than enough room to spread out. The kitchen, dining area and lounge are open plan, with a lovely view over playing fields out to Pottergate Tower. Recently rated 5 Stars by Visit England.

The apartment is north facing and the living space is very complimentary to the size of the apartment, with 2 bathrooms for ease of couple’s holidaying together.

Free WiFi is available throughout the apartment and there is a private parking space for 1 car.

Entrance

The entrance into the apartment building is easy to find and opposite the main entrance to the rest of the building. Tower View apartment is on the third floor and there is a lift which takes you up to the front door. All the access is completely level from car to door, and once you’ve reached the apartment, entrance is into the hallway.

Open Plan Living Space – Kitchen

To the right of the hallway is the wonderful open-plan living space. The kitchen is very well equipped and contains the usual appliances and accessories such as an under-bench fridge and freezer, electric oven and ceramic hob, kettle, toaster, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, Tassimo coffee machine (with an initial supply of pods). There’s also a breakfast bar with 2 stools for informal dining.

Dining Space

The dining table seats four, in addition to the dining table is the breakfast bar with two stools, just off the kitchen. There is a printer available for guests to use in moderation in the dining area.

Lounge

The lounge has a 3 seater sofa, 2 arm chairs and a pouffe stool. The Smart 56″ TV has full access to Netflix and Freeview channels. The large windows flood the room with natural light and there are lovely views over the playing field to Pottergate tower.

Master Bedroom with en suite

The master bedroom has a Juliette balcony facing out to the front entrance of the building and a king size bed (5ft wide), lots of storage space, cherval mirror, dressing table and smart TV located in the wardrobe. synthetic bedding, luxury linens and fluffy towels and a hair dryer are also provided. The en suite has a shower complete with a rainfall shower head, WC, wash hand basin and heated towel rail. Complimentary luxury toiletries by Noble Isle. Whilst the shower is spacious, please note, it has a step up to the tray of about 20cm.

King size Bedroom

The king size bedroom is spacious with ample storage space and a small dressing table. Synthetic bedding , luxury linens, fluffy towels and a hair dryer are provided.

Family Bathroom

The bright and fully-tiled bathroom has a rainfall shower over the bath, wash basin, sink and heated towel rail. Complimentary luxury toiletries are provided by Noble Isle.

Parking

At Tower View apartment there is 1 parking space in an under cover garage beneath the building. Additional cars can be parked in the public car park next to The Malthouse. There is plenty of parking in Alnwick town using a ‘disc’ system, which is all free of charge.

Whilst there is no outside space at Tower View, both the lounge and the master bedroom have a Juliette balcony. There are lovely walks in and around Alnwick to enjoy on foot from the apartment.

Two bedrooms; the master room has a king-size bed (5ft wide) and the second bedroom has a king-size bed (5ft wide). Synthetic bedding is included in both bedrooms.

Bike Storage
There are bike racks available in the car park area, shared with all residents of the apartment building. These are on a first-come-first-served basis and you will need to bring your own lock to keep it secure.

Accessibility
With all accommodation on one level and level access from the front door, this apartment is well suited to those with limited mobility, lift access is available. Tower View is on the third floor. Please note that in the family bathroom the shower is over the bath and in the en suite whilst there is a stand-alone shower, there is a significant step of around 20cm up to the shower tray.

Location
Tower View apartment is in a central location with all the amenities of Alnwick town on your doorstep, including magnificent Alnwick Castle and the world-famous Alnwick Garden.  The stunningly beautiful Heritage coastline is around 10 minutes drive away, and the necklace of pretty coastal villages strung along the Heritage coastline are crying out to be explored; from Amble in the south up to Bamburgh in the north.  A drive across the causeway to Holy Island is not to be missed, and a boat trip to the nature reserves of the Farne Islands are unmissable too.  Inland The Cheviot Hills and Coquet Valley provide fantastic walking and cycling opportunities and grand country houses such as Cragside, Wallington Hall and Howick Hall provide historical and gardening interest.

Lift
Access to the apartment is via stairs or a lift. This property is great for those with limited mobility as there is level access once inside the apartment, however, please bear in mind that in the case of a fire or another emergency, you are not permitted to use the lift. If there is a fault with the lift and it is out of use for your holiday, Coquet Cottages nor the owner of the property can be held responsible for this and access to the apartment will be via stairs only. If you solely rely on lift access, please be aware that this property might not be suitable for you if the lift is out of order for your stay or in the case of an emergency where residents are not permitted to use the lift.

Set within the prestigious Malthouse building in the very centre of Alnwick Tower View is very well situated for exploring the town, eating out or going for strolls, all without having to get in the car. You can reach Alnwick Gardens and Castle on foot, as well as the famous Treehouse. The closest entrance to Alnwick Castle is just 5 minutes walk away on Bailiffgate, The Treehouse will take around 15-20 minutes on foot, an easy walk through the town. You can also discover the famous Barter Books in the centre of the town, which is no more than 10 minutes walk away from Tower View – this is a must in the cooler months to relax by the fire with a cuppa and a good book. There’s plenty of little shops, independent cafes and restaurants, as well as some great pubs around the town too. Twice a week, the market place has a farmer’s market.

I was born in Alnwick, I still have family here and my heart belongs in Northumberland. I met my husband here and have been married for fifty years so there’s a good omen. The countryside, beaches, scenery, and people in Northumberland are second to none. There are so many things to do and see.

The apartment is located in the heart of Alnwick, allowing easy access to the many excellent restaurants all within walking distance, with the benefit of many individual shops.
