Tips from a local
Visit Warkworth Castle. The impressive medieval ruin in the centre of the village dates back to the 1100’s, and is now looked after by English Heritage. The history of the castle and village is fascinating, and with its spiral staircases, towers and lawned grounds to explore, the castle provides an excellent afternoon out for all the family, just a 2 minute walk from the cottage.

Owners of Victoria Cottage
A Little Word from the Owners…
“My parents moved into Victoria Cottage in 1965 and they loved the village life of Warkworth. My father loved fishing and sailing which was the main reason why they chose to live next to the river. My mother enjoyed the beautiful countryside and in particular dog walking on the beach.
The cottage, built in 1905, was substantially extended and refurbished in 2009. In the process we discovered the original inglenook fireplace and made it a feature of the living room.
It’s located in a lovely peaceful setting overlooking the River Coquet whilst at the rear Warkworth Castle keeps a watchful eye over the property.
Our children and grandchildren all have wonderful memories of the cottage and its surroundings. After 50 years we’re still drawn to the quaint historical village of Warkworth and the wonderful Northumberland coast and countryside.”
