Local Sunday Lunch
Have Sunday Lunch at one of Bamburgh’s many restaurants, but make sure you book in advance! You have your choice of The Lord Crewe Arms, The Castle Inn, The Victoria Hotel and The Potted Lobster. They all get the daily catch from Seahouses so everything is as fresh as it can be.

Farne Island Boat Cruises from Seahouses
Take a boat tour out to the Farne Islands with Billy Shiel’s boat trips. This is a must when you come to Northumberland, especially as you are so close to Seahouses. The tours leave from Seahouses harbour and sail all around the Farne Islands. Some stop at the islands where you can get off the boat and have a tour by one of the local rangers, and each boat tour differs depending on the season and what is nesting/breeding around the island. Billy Shiel’s tours are the largest operator in the town, still ran by all the members of the Shiel family who are the most knowledgeable about the area. Make sure you book in advance as they are incredibly popular, especially after being features on Robson Green’s Northumberland!

David & Nicola
Owners of Wagtail Cottage
We asked David and Nicola, the owners, what made them fall in love with Wagtail Cottage:
“We bought Wagtail Cottage following our own fantastic experiences at Dovecott Cottage (our own private holiday home within the same development. We are really passionate about Bamburgh and the North East coastline and whilst biased, we believe it is the best in the UK. We have had so many wonderful times here that when we got the opportunity to buy Wagtail Cottage we could not resist in order for other couples to enjoy this unbelievable coastline.
We hope all of our guests enjoy their time in the North East as much as we do, as there is something for everyone to enjoy including cycling, great walks and beaches, as well as fantastic golf courses and restaurants. We are sure your visit won’t be your last to this great location.”
