Master Cancel Flexible Cancellation

This scheme is now closed to new bookings

All bookings that were placed from 10 June 2020 to 8 January 2021 for arrivals from 1 August 2020 to 31 December 2021 are protected by our Master Cancel programme

Sadly this insurance is no longer available after 8 January 2021, but all bookings placed and confirmed before this date from 10 June 2020 to 8 January 2021 ARE covered – for dates through to the end of 2021.

We strongly recommend if you are booking any time from 9 January 2021 that you take out independent insurance.  Our standard cancellation policy applies on all bookings placed from 9 January 2021 onwards.

Master Cancel offers you the confidence to book knowing that if you have to cancel for unforeseen circumstances, you can cancel from between 60 and 2 days before the check-in date to receive a full refund of your accommodation costs.

FAQ’s

Do I have to give a reason for cancelling?

Yes but the only circumstances where you would not be refunded are those listed below in ‘Is there any scenario not covered by Master Cancel’    To be covered by the Master Cancel Flexible Cancellation Guarantee you can cancel between 60 and 2 days before the check in date.  There are no forms to complete and we do not need any evidence such as doctor’s notes.  We do require written notice of cancellation by email from you, it must be from the email address used to make the booking, sent by the person who placed the booking and sent to info@coquetcottages.co.uk and will be acknowledged by us by return email.

What if I want to cancel more than 60 days before arrival?

If a booking is cancelled by the Customer more than 60 days before the check-in date of the holiday, Master Cancel terms are not able to be applied.  The cancelled dates will be made available for re-booking and a refund will be made of the total amount paid less booking fees and any other administration fees already applied to the booking.  The Agent is unable to refund the cost of any Booking and Administration Fees associated with the booking.  The booking fees can include administration or cancellation fees that have already been charged and listed on the booking summary, these are irrecoverable costs associated with the processing of the initial booking and cancellation. The refund will be issued within 7 days of the last day of the cancelled holiday period.

We strongly recommend – from over 22 years of experience – leaving the decision to cancel to within 1-6 weeks of your holiday start date, as you will then be able to retain the option of still taking the holiday, with the property remaining allocated for you with no obligation – in case you change your mind – whilst still retaining the full right to a refund less booking/administration fees.

The refund will be issued within 7 days of the last day of the cancelled holiday. Card payments may take longer to credit your account which is entirely outside of the Agents’ control. The Agent is only able to process refunds to the original payment method used by the Customer. The Agent will make any cancelled dates available for re-booking via the website.

What if I want to cancel less than 2 days before arrival?

In this case our standard cancellation policy applies.  We will make the dates available to be re-booked and if they do re-book, we will provide a refund of your holiday accommodation cost equal to the rental rate of the new booking – so be aware that your refund could be less than the rate you paid if only a portion of your holiday duration was re-booked or the dates were discounted to attract a last minute booking, and the refund will be less the booking fee, any other administration fees aleady applied to the booking and £75 cancellation fee.  If the dates are not re-booked we are unable to provide a refund.

How do I cancel my booking?

We require written notice of cancellation by email from you and it must be from the email address used to make the booking and sent to info@coquetcottages.co.uk.   We will ask for a reason but you do not have to provide any written evidence such as a doctors note, just clearly tell us you wish to cancel, with the reason, and we will take it from there.  We strongly recommend – from over 22 years of experience – leaving your cancellation to within 1-6 weeks of your holiday start date, as you will then be able to retain the option of still taking the holiday – in case you change your mind – whilst still retaining the full right to a refund less booking/administration fees.

I already have a booking with you, am I covered by Master Cancel?

If your booking was placed prior to 10 June 2020 or after 8 January 2021 it is not covered by Master Cancel and our standard cancellation policy applies.  See full details on our booking conditions webpage.

I have a booking that was deferred from 2020 to a future date, is it covered by Master Cancel?

Not if it was placed and confirmed before 10 June 2020 or was for holiday dates prior to 1 August 2020.  We were only licenced to operate the insurance scheme between 10 June and 8 January 2021 unfortunately.  This is an insurance regulations rule and it’s not possible to add the cover onto bookings placed outside of these dates.   If a voucher is used to book a holiday, which was issued as part of the cancellation of a holiday booked prior to 10th June 2020 or the original holiday date was prior to 1st August 2020, Master Cancel is not able to be offered on that holiday.

If the holiday you are deferring was placed and confirmed after 10 June 2020 and before 9 January 2021 it will be covered by Master Cancel and when deferred to a later date, still be covered in case you need to cancel it at a later date.

Is COVID-19 included?

Yes, whether you are unfortunately ill or a member of your party is, or you do not wish to risk travelling, whether you are self-isolating or if there is a government lockdown or restrictions that prevent you travelling to the property, Master Cancel will cover the booking and provide a refund.

Can I choose to not have Master Cancel on my booking?

No, Master Cancel is applied to all bookings placed from 10 June 2020 to 8 January 2021 for holidays commencing anytime on or after 1 August 2020.
